The disease is known since the beginning of the 20th century, from the first attempts of resettlement of pigs of cultural breeds to the colonial countries of subequatorial and South Africa. The first flash took place in 1903 in the territory of the modern Republic of South Africa.
2019: Flash in China
In July, 2019 China confirmed the new outbreak of the African plague of pigs in the Province of Hubei.
The disease which lethality reaches 100% is registered on a farm in the District of Tuangfeng in the east of the province. In total more than 140 pigs caught.
