2020: Moscow entered in top-10 the cities of the world on a human capital and a gradoplanirovaniye

In July, 2020 the business school of the University of Navarre (IESE) published the rating of dynamically developing cities of Cities in Motion. Moscow entered in top-10 on a human capital and city planning, having risen in a year from the 22nd to the 6th place.

The number of points of bicycle rental, indicators of building, high rise buildings and low-rise buildings, the average number of people on one household and another is estimated at categories "city planning", in particular. On this category Moscow entered in top-10 together with London, New York, Washington.

The rating of Cities in Motion estimates quality of life in 174 cities of all regions of the world. In 2020 Moscow took the 87th place, having outstripped Dubai, Buenos Aires, Jakarta, Cape Town and other world cities. In top-5 the list London, New York, Paris, Tokyo and Reykjavík entered.

Moscow entered in top-10 the cities of the world

The cities within the research are estimated by nine criteria: economy, human capital, social unity, environment, management, city planning, international relations and image, technologies, transport system. The rating covers a broad spectrum of indicators from labor productivity to number of users of Twitter in the city. It is published annually, since 2012, Moscow for the first time appeared in rating in 2014.

In the report of 2020 authors noted rating methodology shortcomings in relation to assessment of the cities. So, for providing the comparative analysis on all cities on an indicator "the economy of joint consumption" with authors is estimated existence in the city of Glovo or Uber services and local projects, such as Delivery Club and " Yandex.food " are not taken into account.

The Head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology of the capital of the Russian Federation Eduard Lysenko noted that the competitiveness of Moscow grows, the city gradually is among those who define the digital future.[1]
