2018: The Japanese driving schools began to train in control of drones

At the end at the end of August, 2018 it became known that more and more the Japanese driving schools instead of profile rates lessons of training in skills of control of drones offer. It helps driving schools to remain afloat in the conditions of low demand for a driving school. Plus, so the country prepares for high demand of operators unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the future, reported the Nikkei edition.

The number of driving schools in Japan was reduced since 1500 in 1988 to 1300 in the 2016th, and the number completed a driving school during the same period decreased from 2.6 million to 1.6 million people. Observers connect it with demographic crisis in the country and falling of interest at youth in control of cars.

Meanwhile, driving schools found a way out and began to train in control of drones which today some of the most popular gadgets for entertainment and work.

As of August, 2018 24 driving schools in Japan joined an initiative of Driving School Drone Consortium - the organization which encourages creation of UAVs rates based on driving schools. 16 educational institutions already started the corresponding training, and 8 are going to make it until the end of the year.

The purpose of consortium - in two years to finish number of the driving schools teaching skills of piloting of the UAV to one hundred that will make about 10% of a total quantity of the driving schools operating in Japan.

For training of operators of drones the program developed by the Japanese association of industrial development of the UAV is used (Japan UAS Industrial Development Association, JUIDA). In it at least 10 hours of practical working off of skills of piloting, including maneuvering by drones in air, management of them without use of GPS and programming on flight in completely standalone mode. Not less than 6 hours of the theoretical occupations devoted to studying of the UAV device, laws and rules, regulating flights of drones are also provided.

Rates last about a week and there are about 250 thousand yens (about $2263). Successfully last training certificates which allow to obtain the license for control of drones in the simplified order are issued.[1]
