2017: Growth by 21% to $4 billion

In 2017 the world market of cloud services of security (Security-as-a-Service, SaaS) showed impressive growth. Against the background of more active implementation of solutions SaaS at the enterprises revenue from such services increased by 21% and reached $4 billion. Such data were published on March 22, 2018 by the analytical agency Canalys.

Specialists note that growth rates in the SaaS segment were twice higher, than in all market of technologies of information security support. In particular, in segments of hardware and software cybersecurity solutions rise for 5% and 10% respectively was observed, and total revenue on these two directions in 2017 made $27 billion. Sales volume in global market of cybersecurity technologies in general in Canalys is estimated at $31 billion.

Last year such companies as Cisco, McAfee and Trend Micro filled up the portfolios of cloud cybersecurity solutions, and now they turn on more wide range of products and provide practically the same set of functionality, as in case of purchase of the license to use of the software — the analyst of Canalys Claudio Stahnke comments on a research.

According to the specialist, an opportunity to purchase cybersecurity products at cloud providers and partners in sales channels, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), made less difficult commissioning of cybersecurity products and provided flexibility of billing process for clients.

Canalys predicts that the market cloud services of security will continue to show the sure ascending dynamics on an extent not only the 2018th, but also 2019. At the same time also significant growth in sales of equipment rooms and software tools of security is expected. Specialists believe that these two segments will continue to bring the most part of revenue in the market of cybersecurity technologies.[1]
