2019: Sale of smartphones without Google services

On December 16, 2019 it became known that all new Android-smartphones in Turkey will be on sale without services Google.

We announced our business partners that we will not be able to work with them over new smartphones with Android which will be issued for the Turkish market. Consumers can purchase the existing models of devices, they will be able to use the devices and applications. Other Google services will not be mentioned — said in Google.

It became known that all new Android smartphones in Turkey will be on sale without Google services

The Turkish antimonopoly authority fined Google 93 million liras (about $17.4 million) for violation of the law about the competition at sale of mobile software earlier. A complaint was filed by "Yandex" which said that Google changed license agreements with producers of devices and blocked a possibility of the choice in Android of the search system by default.

The authorities of Turkey supported the Russian company, having directed Google to change distribution agreements of the software. Also American corporation had to pay a penalty in the amount of 0.05% of revenue a day for every day until she does not fulfill all requirements of the regulator.

According to the Haberturk edition, the Google company sent to the partners a contact information of the minister of trade of Turkey and the head of antimonopoly department with a request to influence the solution.

Earlier in 2019 the antimonopoly authority of Turkey began one more investigation on suspicion of Google of attempts of discrimination of competitors. Check concerns algorithms which are used by Internet giant in the search system and sale of contextual advertizing. Investigation was it is started after competitors complained of "abuse of a dominant position and difficulty of business of other companies", Reuters with reference to the statement of department reports.[1]
