2017: 110 million subscribers

2014: Growth of number of subscribers in Russia for 8%

The number of subscribers of MTS in Russia at the end of 2014 grew by 8% in comparison with an indicator for 2013.

In Russia the indicator of ARPU for complete 2014 grew by 0.1% up to 339.1 rubles, the indicator of MOU increased up to 372 minutes. Similar indicators in the fourth quarter were 2014 338 rubles and 393 minutes.

Level of outflow of a subscriber base in Russia in the fourth quarter was 2014 11%.

2012: 100.72 million subscribers

The consolidated subscriber base of MTS according to the results of the fourth quarter 2012 grew by 1.9% up to 95.5 million, growth at the end of 2012 was 3% (without write-off of a subscriber base of Uzdunrobita, 100% of MTS subsidiary company in Uzbekistan).

For December 31, 2012 the number of subscribers of the company in Russia made 71.23 million, in Ukraine – 20.42 million, in Armenia – 2.4 million, in Turkmenistan – 1.44 million, in Belarus – 5.23 million

2011: 106 million subscribers

The general subscriber base of MTS (including subscribers in Republic of Belarus) reached 106.1 million as of December 31, 2011, having shown growth of a subscriber base by 0.4 million subscribers.

Average monthly income on one subscriber (ARPU) in Russia grew to 284.0 rub in the fourth quarter 2011 in comparison with 262.0 rub for the same period of 2010. This growth is caused by quality improvement of a subscriber base and growth of use of services. The indicator of MOU (minute of use) across Russia grew by 9.2% and made 283 minutes in the fourth quarter 2011 in comparison with 259 minutes in the fourth quarter 2010 as a result of quality improvement of a subscriber base and stimulation of calls in MTS network.

In a segment of the fixed broadband access the quantity of the passable households in the fourth quarter increased 2011 by 15.6% in comparison with the same period of previous year and reached 11.4 million.

The subscriber base of services of a pay TV made in the fourth quarter 3.0 million in comparison with 2.6 million in the fourth quarter 2010. The number of subscribers of services broadband access grew from 1.8 million in the 4th quarter 2010 to 2.2 million at the end of a reporting quarter. Growth of these indicators is caused by expansion of networks of fixed connection, purchases of regional assets and transfer of subscribers from target companies.

  • As of December 31, 2011 the consolidated subscriber base of MTS made 100.9 million users. In comparison with data for November, 2011 the number of subscribers of MTS increased by 270 thousand or for 0.4%. The subscriber base in the Moscow region made 13 million users, in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region – 3.8 million users. In other regions of Russia 53.11 million subscribers use services of MTS.

The subscriber base of MTS in Ukraine makes 19.22 million users, in Uzbekistan – 9.3 million, in Armenia – 2.38 million and in Belarus (SOOO "Mobile TeleSystems" in which MTS possesses 49% of stocks) – 4.93 million.

The consolidated number of subscribers of the company as of February 28, 2011 made 104.11 million users. In February, 2011 the consolidated subscriber base of MTS increased more than by 0.5 million users.

The consolidated number of subscribers as of July 31, 2010 made 99.21 million. Subscriber base of MTS:

  • in Russia for the end of July made 69.30 million users (-0.2% in relation to June, 2010),
  • in Ukraine - 17.71 million (+1.09%),
  • in Uzbekistan – 7.81 million (+2.8%),
  • in Turkmenistan – 2.24 million (+3.6%),
  • in Armenia – 2.15 million (+1.3%),
  • in Belarus – 4.60 million (+0.4%). MTS is the largest cellular operator of Belarus.

The consolidated number of her subscribers as of October 31, 2010 made 100.3 million users. Thus, in a month the number of subscribers decreased by 0.3% or 260 thousand. In Russia the subscriber base made 69.09 million people (-0.8%), in Ukraine - 18.23 million (+0.41%), in Uzbekistan – 8.37 million (+2.6%), in Turkmenistan – 2.40 million (+0.5%), in Armenia – 2.22 million (+1.2%), in Belarus – 4.66 million (+0.3%).

2008: 85 million subscribers, in a 10-ka of the largest mobile operators of the world

For 2008 MTS is the largest mobile operator in Russia and the CIS countries and enters ten the largest cellular operators in the world by the size to a subscriber base and market capitalization. Together with the affiliated enterprises the company services more than 85 million subscribers in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan.
