The largest outsourcers of support of SAP solutions and their customers
At the end of 2017 EAE-Consult companies (revenue from services in outsourcing of support of SAP – 560.4 million rubles) and IBS (527 million rub) became the largest Russian outsourcers of support of SAP solutions. The first, in comparison with 2016, reduced revenue almost by a third, the second, on the contrary, increased by a quarter.
The largest growth of revenue among Top-5 of outsourcers of support of SAP is recorded at ALPE consulting company – 62.7%. At it the greatest number of clients – 70 is mentioned (against 60 the previous year).

Total sales of Top-5 of outsourcers of support of SAP at the end of 2017 were 1682 million rubles that is 739 million rubles less than a similar indicator of last rating. At the end of 2016 total revenue of 5 largest outsourcers of support of SAP made 2421 million rubles. One of the reasons – absence in the new rating of a number of the companies, for example, Energodata companies.

Market estimates in 2017-2018
Most of participants of rating agree in opinion that outsourcing market of support of SAP continues to grow. However, estimates of specific indicators of dynamics and market size significantly disperse.
According to Dmitry Ivitsky, the director of the Center of support of SAP of IBS company, the market is rather stable: at the capacity about 10 billion rubles it shows though small from year to year, but always positive dynamics within 4%-6%.
We expect that this trend will remain also in the next several years, - he says. |
Alexander Korol, the head of the service center MOLGA Consulting, also fixes small positive, but stable dynamics at the level of 3% – 3.5%. At the same time, he estimates the size of the market of outsourcing of support of SAP for last 2017 at 3 - 3.3 billion rubles.
With high probability of a tendency to growth of the market and its rates in 2018-2019 will remain, in case of lack of the economic and political solutions of the state influencing the industry, - the representative of MOLGA Consulting adds. |
Railya Biryukova, the head of a support service of the SAP solutions of ALPE consulting company, agrees with colleagues, noting that outsourcing market of support of the SAP solutions shows stable growth, and forecasts for the next years - positive.
Oleg Hlopin, the chief of Competence center of SAP EAE-Consult, notices that it is rather difficult to estimate the physical amount of a single Russian market as some centers SAP, and EAE-Consult company not an exception, perform implementation and support not only domestic, but also foreign clients.
At the same time financial performance of the Russian market in 2017 as at most (at the most optimistic scenario), remained at the previous level. And, I think, this trend in the next years will remain", - the expert believes. |
Against the background of stability and forecasts of small growth the optimistic forecast of Novardis Consulting company is selected. According to her representatives, growth of outsourcing market of support of SAP solutions in the next years can reach 30-40%.

Increase in level of a maturity
If to speak about the market in general, then increase in level of a maturity of customers is observed.
According to Dmitry Ivitsky, the director of the Center of support of SAP of IBS company, 15 years ago when the company began to work in this segment, 90% of client requests for support were connected with simple providing resources in own exclusive management.
Now many companies initially address for support and development of the SAP solutions in model of the managed service (Managed Services) and with accurately formulated SLA where critical business indicators of operation of systems which achievement is required from the contractor are registered, - the expert of IBS explains. |
Interest in cloud solutions
Clients show the increasing interest in cloud solutions. Their support demands from the customer of expansion of the first/second level of support by own forces with complete or partial transition to support outsourcing.

Other factor of growth, Alexander Korol tells, quite high demand of new solutions is in recent years. It positively influences the outsourcing volume as requires existence of the qualified resources right after implementation.

According to Riley Biryukovoy, the head of a support service of the SAP solutions of ALPE consulting company, the economic situation directly affects the market.
The customer is interested in cost reduction therefore more profitable is an attraction of the third competent party which provides the timely qualified help if necessary and satisfies all available production requests. The IT structure develops all the time, a SAP products too, for business to have an opportunity to solve modern tools specific problems of the industry very valuably, it is saving of time, labor costs and as a result high controllability the enterprise. Outsourcing also copes with such task", - Railya Biryukova says. |
As it is not strange, but one of restraining factors experts also call a difficult situation in economy. Among others – import substitution policy and direct participation of SAP in large projects.
Oleg Hlopin, the chief of Competence center of SAP EAE-Consult, explains:
The market is affected by a number of the objective reasons: a difficult macroeconomic situation (even the Central Bank of Russia for the first time since 1998 worked at a loss), deficit of long-term money for investments, the import substitution program, participation of SAP directly in large (i.e. the most financially capacious) projects and some other. Besides large corporate clients are equipped with SAP solutions to the maximum. And transition to cloud services (about 14% in 2016 in structure of total sales of "big" SAP) which profitability is lower than traditional sales of licenses for the corporate software (about 48% in structure of revenue), does not promote growth of financial market sizes. |
