AgileCraft — software developer, intended for control of development of business projects. The AgileCraft tools help the large companies to apply Agile-approaches in joint work of employees.

History

2019: Atlassian purchased AgileCraft for $166 million

On March 18, 2019 Atlassian announced acquisition of AgileCraft for $166 million. The most part of this amount (about $154 million) will be paid from own means of the buyer, and the remained share — in the form of his actions with limited circulation. It is going to close the transaction in April, 2019.

As notes the SiliconANGLE edition, the companies actually suit one another as the software of AgileCraft was developed for work with the Atlassian Jira tools and increase in their efficiency. According to the CEO of Atlassian Scott Farquhar, the companies have several general clients who use Atlassian and AgileCraft technologies. Among such customers — AT&T and Fidelity Investments.

These and other clients, as a rule, use Jira for planning and implementation of software development. And AgileCraft is applied to help to integrate these commands and to provide to company executives broader idea of these or those projects.

Holger Mueller from Constellation Research called AgileCraft acquisition "a good strategic game" Atlassian because this transaction, according to him, reduces barriers to development of new applications, and it means that Atlassian will be able to increase business in general.

Atlassian thanks to purchase will be able to simplify Agile-development for the companies. They want good integration of software, but models of sales and support should be approved among themselves. First of all Atlassian should resolve the issues connected with sale of several products in a set — the expert considers.[1]
