Aimsun is the Spanish software maker for modeling of road traffic. Software allows to model city  intersections  of any  complexity  and type of regulation at a stage of planning of construction projects, to analyze  capacity of the transport systems and to test schemes  of transit priorities. The Aimsun programs help to optimize process of construction of roads, minimizing future jams on roads.

By March, 2018 software of Aimsun is applied in 79 countries by more than 4600 users.

2018: Siemens purchased Aimsun

On March 20, 2018 the German industrial concern Siemens announced Aimsun acquisition. The cost of the transaction does not reveal.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aimsun will continue work as the independent company, but as a part of division of mobile technologies (Mobility Division) of Siemens. It is going execute all formalities concerning the transaction in April, 2018.

Siemens purchased software developer for transport planning of Aimsun

It is supposed that developments of Aimsun will add the solutions Siemens Intelligent Traffic Systems intended for "smart" management of road traffic.

The CEO of Aimsun Jaime Ferrer says that accession to Siemens will allow to create the platform for the software of Aimsun which will be used in Central Europe and in emerging markets.[1]
