All-Russian Research Institute of an industrial art (All-Russian Research Institute of TE)

In April, 2016 the State Corporation Rostec on behalf of Central Research Institute Elektronika founded the All-Russian Research Institute of an industrial art (the All-Russian Research Institute of TE) which will become the integrator connecting requirements of production and a possibility of community of designers.

The choice of Central Research Institute Elektronika as the founder of the center is caused by the tasks facing Rostec according to the new Development strategy till 2025 which assumes growth of ruble revenue of Rostec by 17% a year, including at the expense of an exit to international markets of "smart" civil products.

For accomplishment of the target indicators put in new Strategy, Rostec needs to increase competitive advantages in the traditional markets and to enter the perspective markets of medical and telecommunication equipment, IT, electronics, new materials, robotics, etc. with the end products conforming to the international standards not only in the field of technologies, but also industrial design. As the founder of the All-Russian Research Institute of TE will provide to Central Research Institute Elektronika the design center with the corresponding examination in the field of strategy and analytics.

Tasks of the All-Russian Research Institute center of an industrial art

The center is designed to become the instrument of formation of demand for services in the field of industrial design. Other important task - formation of the directory of industrial output of Rostec which will visually show reality of the Russian products, its appearance and consumer properties. On the basis of this directory of the All-Russian Research Institute TE will make decisions on redesign of perspective products of corporation.

"Within Rostec, with revenue about 30 billion dollars a year, we practically have no competence centers which would be engaged in design, – Vasily Brovko emphasized. – The exception is made only by three players who are built well in the market. It is Helicopters of Russia holding, KAMAZ and AVTOVAZ".

Such situation, in particular, interferes with overcoming a design barrier at an exit not only to export markets, but also to local. The modern product design is a design of technologies, new materials, the innovative design solutions and ampler opportunities of customization.

The problem of the Russian design for the industry consists in a shortcoming of professionals of the necessary level, in the wrong understanding of the role by designers. The reason of this situation in a catastrophic disproportion in the market of design. So, according to the estimates of experts of area, more than 70% of the market are occupied by graphic designers, other share is divided by interior designers, packagings and media designers.

The percent of these industrial designers is extremely small, especially considering the scale of industrial production in Russia. Due to such gap on productions either engineers, or young designers without the corresponding knowledge which draws beautiful futuristic concepts more often are engaged in design. However these concepts are absolutely idealistic, from realities of the specific plants and the enterprises therefore they remain on paper.

"In addition to talent, there has to be still a market component – ability to work in the market. What the Russian companies do not have yet", – Vasily Brovko noted.

Thus, revival of the All-Russian Research Institute of TE - an additional incentive to creation of the full market of industrial design in Russia. Capability at the high level to execute orders of serious players in the field of the industry and absorption in a methodical and scientific and technical perspective will allow to structure emerging market under new ambitious tasks, to provide competitiveness in international markets.

Management of the All-Russian Research Institute center of an industrial art

The director of communications and the strategic researches Brovko Vasily in the field of whose responsibility there are questions connected with the Strategy of Rostec till 2025 and the organization of researches in the field of strategic marketing will supervise work of the All-Russian Research Institute of TE in Rostec. It will allow the All-Russian Research Institute of TE to be focused in the strategic markets, an exit to which is priority for Rostec.
