Alooma  — software developer, intended for data transfer of the companies from different sources in one cloud infrastructure. The startup is founded in 2013 in Israel, however then its headquarters was thrown in Redvud-City (California, the USA). In Tel Aviv the office remained.

History

2019: Google purchased Alooma

On February 19, 2019 Google announced Alooma acquisition. Though the cost of the transaction of the company did not begin to be disclosed, the The Jerusalem Post edition knows of it from several informed sources — about $150 million.

Google says that this purchase is crucial for the company in terms of creation of additional opportunities of cloud data migration.

Accession of Alooma which is a condition of closing of the transaction represents the natural approach allowing us to offer clients the optimized and automated process of migration in Google Cloud. This simplified way of migration also opens for customers an opportunity to use all technologies which we offer, including analytics, security, AI and machine learning, said in the statement of the American Internet giant.

This acquisition will also allow cloud business of Google to strengthen positions in the Israeli market.

Cofounders of Alooma of the Yoni Broyd (Yoni Broyde) and Yair Weinberger noted that sale to the company followed after its long-term cooperation with Google Cloud and integration of technologies. So, deep cooperation of the Alooma tools with platforms Google Ads Google Analytics, Cloud Spanner and BigQuery was established.

To the transaction with Google the Alooma company attracted in total $14.7 million from Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners and other investors. Clients of a startup Publicis, OkCupid, etc. were among Sony, Nextel, The New York Times, [1]
