Authentium

The Authentium company is founded in 1992 to the USA, the State of Florida. By 2010 the company became one of the leading software developers, technologies and security systems on the SaaS model.

In 2002 Authentium purchased the Command Software company working in the field of IT security since 1984, and which is guided by technologies of opposition to malware. Also one more division known as SafeCentral was a part of Authentium.

In 2006 the company reported about more than 300 thousand the viruses and other types of malware which are successfully revealed by it and blocked. Then, in 2006, Authentium joined Virus Information Alliance - the international program of information exchange about malicious codes headed by Microsoft.

Up to 2010 Authentium advances the platform of the expanded services - ESP (Extensible Service Platform) which was considered as flagman development of the company for the SaaS model. This platform allows providers, to banks, to telecom operators and portals to offer the modern level of security systems under own trademarks that provides revenue growth, support of the high level of efficiency and performance.

Authentium created library (SDK – Software Development Kit) for developers, the allowing rapid development practically any type of the application of security and integration with other products of the company at the ESP platform.

Number of the known products of the company: ESP Desktop Security Suite, ESP Enterprise Manager, ESP Antivirus & ANtispyware.

The line of antivirus software and security includes the desktop portal, solutions for small and medium business, providers of the Internet and large business. Applications are flexibly configured and can include protection against viruses, spyware, data recovery modules softwares, firewalls, means of parent control, the disabler of pop-up windows, modules of protection of transactions.

It is offered to corporate users:

• fast identification of terminal stations running OS of the Windows family;

• application configuration in an endpoint and superfast installation, installation and removal of applications by the drag and drops method (drag and drop);

• reuse service - the focused licenses;

• receiving and installation of updates from one source and many other opportunities intended for decrease in load of system administrators.

In September, 2010, the Commtouch company (Israel) purchased division of Command of Authentium company which was engaged in development of antiviruses. Purchase is made for $4.6 million cash and the additional payments depending on achievement of results of profitability till December 31, 2011 that can bring the total amount of the transaction to $8 million.

This acquisition, actually, puts the end to existence of Authentium company as with Command acquisition - fundamental unit of Authentium, the brand carried over Commtouch, and division of Authentium - SafeCentral became the independent enterprise and saves the name, a part of top management remained to work in this company.

As Rebecca Steinberg reported Tadviser.ru Kherson (Rebecca Steinberg Herson), the marketing vice president of Commtouch, now the company does not use the Authentium brand, however reserves the right to such opportunity in the future.

Today the Commtouch company inherited all obligations of division of Authentium - Command before customers, partners and clients, having saved behind them all advantages, support system and development team. Commtouch intends to continue to invest in a product line of Command and to add additional resources.
