Avid Secure — the American startup founded in 2017, the cloud infrastructure specializing in security. The company develops the solutions using artificial intelligence for the analysis and control of security of clouds Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure Google Cloud , etc. By the beginning 2019 in Avid Secure about 15 people work. The company cooperates with some cybersecurity vendors, including Splunk and SentinelOne.

History

2019: Sophos purchased Avid Secure

In January, 2019 Sophos announced Avid Secure acquisition to offer clients a comprehensive protection of public cloud services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure Google Cloud. The cost of the transaction of the company was decided not to be disclosed, as well as other terms of agreement.

Commenting on purchase, Sophos noted that Avid Secure uses artificial intelligence and automation for problem solving which in practice meet in cloud security — for example, the hidden loads of systems. The small startup is capable to provide the permanent monitoring necessary not to lag behind the modern difficult attacks, it is specified in the press release.

Sophos purchased the developer of AI tools for cloud security of Avid Secure

The cofounder and the CEO of Avid Secure Nikhil Gutta says that they the software developed by the company for protection of cloud processes and management of cloud security will promote leadership of Sophos in the fast-growing market.

The president of Data Integrity Services (the platinum partner of Sophos) Sam Heard believes that with Avid Secure purchase the Sophos company will be able to offer small and medium business cloud protection which initially was a prerogative of large customers.

As notes the CRN edition, for Sophos this first acquisition since February, 2017 when the company absorbed Invincea startup for $120 million. In total since 2003 until the beginning of the 2019th Sophos made nine acquisitions.[1]
