In May, 2012 consortium of foreign investment companies Da Vinci Capital, Insight Capital, Alpha Associates and Runa Capital and center of electronic biddings B2B-Center signed the investment agreement according to which the consortium acquired a minority stake (34%) of B2B-Center company.
A system allows each company to act both as the organizer, and the participant of procedures of any level of complexity: competitive negotiations, requests of prices/offers, auctions of the seller/buyer, all types of tenders.
Systems capabilities, in addition to trade function, include information and analytical, financial, insurance and logistics services, issue of the electronic digital signature, etc.
In the System of B2B-Center trade procedures in online the mode are carried out by such enterprises as RUSNANO, IES-Holding Ltd, JSC RusHydro, JSC IDGC Holding, OMZ Special steel, JSC ANC Bashneft, JSC MTS, JSC RAO ES of the East, JSC Gazprom (JSC OGK-2, JSC TGC-1), JSC Power Machines, etc.
2019: In the first half of the year the volume of electronic biddings grew by 52% to 1.2 trillion rubles
On September 18, 2019 it became known that for the first half of 2019 the trading volume on the platform of B2B-Center grew by 52% and made 1.2 trillion rub. In total the Russian companies carried out 114 thousand electronic procurement — 32% more, than in the first half of 2018.

In comparison with the first half of 2018 these segments grew by 2-3 times. Transformation of the industries which are provided on the platform for a long time continues. On an equal basis with regular users energy companies from Kazakhstan, producers of solar energy and the Russian subsidiaries of the Chinese holdings became the largest customers.|

As it was reported, for the first time purchases of the Russian retail networks became the largest segment on B2B-Center. Their volume increased by 2-3 times and was 17.9% of a total turnover of the platform. The largest customers from this industry: networks "Magnet", "Intersection", "Pyaterochka" Fix Price, Kari and others.
On the second place there were purchases telecommunication and the IT companies - 17.5% of the total amount of purchases. Suppliers in electronic form are selected by MegaFon, Tele2, VimpelCom, "Your mobile technologies" (subsidiary of Tattelecom), service IT company "SIBINTEK" and others.
The third in trading volume there was a market of orders from the enterprises of nuclear sector which are included into Rosatom State Corporation. The share of this segment reached 12.6% of the total amount of purchases on the platform.
The fourth and fifth place was taken by energy companies (11%) and the enterprises of agro-industrial complex (7.3%).
In 2019 also the industry structure of electronic biddings significantly changed. For the first time purchases of transport and logistics services became the most popular category. This segment grew three times and made more than 19% of the total amount of purchases on the platform. On the second place – traditional purchases of machine-building products from shares of 15.8%. The segment of banking, legal, marketing, security and research services (15.6%) became the third in purchasing amounts.
Transport and logistics: service, production and transport companies selected contractors for transportation of goods.
Services: the enterprises of nuclear sector and retail networks selected contractors for rendering banking, legal, marketing, security and research services.
Construction goods and services: the energy, metallurgical, mining, oil and gas and petrochemical companies and also the agrarian and industrial complex enterprises and retail networks selected contractors for capital construction, reconstruction, design of engineering networks and communications, design and survey, construction and repair work.
Metallurgy products: metallurgical and engineering enterprises bought rolling, a hardware, ferroalloys and sheet metal, and the oil and gas, petrochemical and mining enterprises are pipes and a pipeline armature.
2018: The trading volume grew by 29% to 2 trillion rubles
On March 27, 2019 the B2B-Center company reported that the trading volume on its electronic marketplace for 2018 grew by 29% and made 2 trillion rubles. In total the Russian companies carried out 184 thousand electronic procurement - 15% more, than in 2017.

Rapid progress in this plan was shown by agriculture. Agroholdings became one of the most active buyers on the platform. In a year the share of their purchases grew from 2% to 7%.
One more trend - structural changes in the industries, traditional for electronic trading. On an equal basis with usual electrical power holdings, cellular operators and retail chain stores, representatives of business little known so far - the companies in the field of solar power, the service IT companies and online stores became the largest customers on the platform.
Industrial equipment, construction goods and services remained the most popular categories. Promptly growing segment of banking, legal, marketing, security, educational and realtor services rose to the third place. Its share increased from 11.1% to 14.7%.
Construction goods and services: the energy, metallurgical, oil and gas and oilfield services, mining and gold mining companies and also the agrarian and industrial complex enterprises selected contractors for capital construction and reconstruction, design of engineering networks and communications, design and survey and installation and construction works.
Other services: customers selected contractors for banking, marketing, legal, security services and also services in the field of the real estate and education from all industries.
Metallurgy products: the engineering and metallurgical enterprises bought rolling, sheet metal and a hardware, and oil and gas, petrochemical and mining companies are pipes and a pipeline armature.
The marketplace for RAO UES of Russia (B2B-Energo) was the first project of the company, today the B2B-Center works with the enterprises practically of all branches of the economy — natural monopolies, large holdings, implementing the projects directed to increase in cost efficiency of the enterprises clients.
In 2005 the B2B-Center put into operation the trading system for tendering by the state and municipal enterprises B2G-Goszakupki. The platform was developed in full accordance with No. 94-FZ of 7/21/2005. Its functionality allows state customers to carry out trade procedures in electronic form, reducing labor and finance costs, and to the enterprises – freely and on fair conditions to participate in the state order.
In the B2G-Goszakupki system more than 7,000 participants, till 2010 on the platform carried out purchases to the period the Presidential Property Management Department of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Ingushetia, the Center of orders and deliveries of MTS of the back of Russian Armed Forces.
Purchases of the Russian companies in 2016
On March 16, 2017 the Center of Development of Economy company published information on results of 2016 regarding purchases of the Russian companies on B2B-Center electronic marketplace. Purchasing amount grew by 15% and exceeded 1.5 trillion rubles, the number of procurement procedures, in comparison with 2015 grew by 10% and reached 150 thousand.

One of the most important trends of last year became significant increase in volumes and number of electronic procurement of private companies. Using our platform the purchases actively transferred the extracting and agro-industrial enterprises, producers of food to an electronic form and retailers for whom the platform became the convenient instrument of additional economy, optimization of purchasing activity and search of new suppliers. Generally it were big customers, this year they will be followed by medium and small business. Before state companies were the main driver of the market of electronic biddings. However now the vast majority of them already work for ETP. At the same time the most progressive state corporations carry out the purchases, in electronic form up to 98-100%.
Electrical power holdings and the companies to which share 27% of the total number of purchases and 34% of the total amount of purchases on the platform fell remained the most active users of ETP. To the second place on purchasing amounts there were extracting and service companies of the oil and gas industry - 15% of the total amount of purchases and 4% of their number. In comparison with 2015 telecommunication companies twice increased volumes of electronic procurement and there were to the third place from shares 12% of the total amount of purchases on the platform.
On the fourth place there was a segment - purchases of the enterprises of nuclear sector which made 8% of a total quantity and volumes of procedures. The metallurgical companies took the fifth place on the purchasing amount (8% of total amount) and the second in quantity (16% of total number). The share of a machine-building segment makes 12% by quantity and 6% on volumes of all purchases on the platform.
Among other large segments on the platform: purchases of the agricultural enterprises, food, wood-processing and pulp and paper industry and also service industry and retail.
In top three of purchase of machine-building and metallurgical products, construction goods and services. In a year their cumulative share grew from 47.5% to 49.4%.
Purchases of machine-building products made 20.7% of the total number of procedures (19% in 2015). Popular types of goods: machines and equipment for the mining industry, machines, devices gidro-and pneumoautomatic equipment, oil-field and drilling equipment. Main consumers: mining, metallurgical, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy companies and enterprises of nuclear sector.
The share of purchases of construction goods and services did not change - 17.5%. Energy companies selected contractors on projects of capital construction, reconstruction, design of engineering networks and communications, design and survey and installation and construction works.
Share of purchases of metallurgical products - 11.2% (11% in 2015). The enterprises of machine-building, military-industrial and metallurgical complexes bought rolling, sheet metal and a hardware, and the companies of the oil and gas and petrochemical industries are pipes and a pipeline armature.
From 8.8% to 10% the share of purchases increased by providing different services. The greatest gain occurred in a segment medical (+71%), security services (+100%) and also services for fulfillment of requirements of state bodies (statistical, ecological and other investigations, +34%). Among the growing sectors there were also purchases of agricultural products and food (+49%) and also products of chemical industry (+27%).
Rosatom approved B2B-Center as the platform for carrying out purchases electronically
The center of electronic biddings B2B-Center was among in February, 2016 the electronic marketplaces (EM) for carrying out purchases of State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom".
In total the list of operators of ETP for carrying out purchases by corporation and its organizations included three platforms.
In total for the period trial operation in a system 82 enterprises of nuclear sector which announced 189 procedures for the total amount over 13.8 billion rubles were registered. Average economy in complete procedures made over 12.6%.
The enterprises entering into corporation buy using B2B-Center the equipment and measuring devices for nuclear power stations, construction, mounting and motor transportation services and also the transport equipment.
Purchase of tanks of a system of abnormal cooling for the Kola NPP became one of the most effective procedures. Five potential suppliers participated in a procedure. During trading the starting maximum price of the contract was reduced more than by 35%, economy made over 124 million rubles.
2015: Growth of purchasing amount by 22% to 1.2 trillion rubles
In comparison with 2014 the purchasing amount of the Russian companies in the system of B2B-Center in 2015 grew by 22% and was nearly 1.2 trillion rubles.
Significant increase in volumes was shown by purchases in foreign currency. Purchasing amount in US dollars grew by 30% and was $1.5 billion, in euro - for 450% and was €368 million. The number of procurement procedures grew by 5% and was more than 130 thousand. Rates of a gain of new users of the electronic marketplace (EM) increased: this indicator in 2015 was 8% more.
Traditionally, electrical power holdings to which share about a half of all biddings and total amount of purchases fell became the most active users of ETP. On the second place - the mining and metallurgical companies (a quarter of all biddings and 11% of total amount of purchases). The third place was divided by machine-building and defense and industrial holdings (16% of all procedures and 8% of total amount) and the oil and gas companies (5% of procedures and 19% of their volume).
Purchases of goods and services of the machine-building industry – 19% of the total number of procedures came out on top (in 2014 - 18.6%). The companies bought machines and the equipment for the mining industry, devices gidro-and pneumoautomatic equipment, oil-field and drilling equipment.
Purchases construction goods and services - 17.5% of the total number of biddings moved to the second place (in 2014 - 20.2%). Using ETP the companies looked for contractors on projects of capital construction and reconstruction: to design of engineering networks, design and survey and to installation and construction works.
Slightly the share of metallurgical products - 10.9% of the total number of purchases changed (in 2014 - 11.2%).
Considerably increased the share and rather new segment of transport services and logistics took the fourth place. In 2013 purchases in this sphere made only 3.7%, in 2014 - 8.1%, and in 2015 - already 10.4%.
The share of purchases of electric equipment and electronics which became the fifth most popular made 7.7% (in 2014 - 8.5%). Energy companies bought an electrodistribution equipment and supervisory equipment, the engineering and metallurgical enterprises are electric motors and generators.
2014: Results of purchasing activity of the Russian energy companies
The activity of the power engineering specialists who are pioneers of electronic procurement in Russia in 2014 continued to grow. As of December 11, 2014 the number of the placed procedures on electronic marketplaces exceeded 160 thousand. At the same time 44% of all electronic procurement in 2014 took place in this segment on captive platforms (own corporate marketplaces or bulletin boards on the websites of the companies). The others - on independent platforms. First place among them in this segment was won by B2B-Center on which there took place 21% of purchases of power engineering specialists.
As well as in 2013, the most part of purchases from the electrical power enterprises was regulated by the state. According to Federal law No. 223-F3 in 2014 underwent 58% of such procedures, in 2013 - 60%. The share of commercial purchases increased by 2% (42% – in 2014, 40% – in 2013).
In 2014 more than a half of procedures (53%) was carried out in the form of requests for quotations and offers. On tenders no more than 5%, and were the share of auctions – no more than 1%.
According to B2B-Center, in an industry product structure of purchases of the Russian power engineering specialists on ETP construction goods and services dominated. In comparison with 2013 their share grew from 46% to 50% in 2014. Main reason: in domestic power large-scale projects on upgrade and reconstruction of production capacities and distribution networks are implemented. For example, biddings on new construction of combined heat and power plant in Sovetskaya Gavan of Khabarovsk Krai became the largest on B2B-Center in 2014 – the price of the winner exceeded 13 billion rubles.
Experts of B2B-Center also note preserving of a share of the purchased goods in sectors of mechanical engineering and the metallurgical industry – 11% and 4% respectively. At the same time the share of goods in a segment of purchases of electric equipment and electronics was reduced from 17% in 2013 to 13% in current. At the same time the range of the goods and services which are purchased on ETP constantly extends. For example, in recent years the largest power the company began to buy actively energy carriers (first of all – coal, diesel fuel) and also to use electronic platforms for the choice of credit and insurance companies. For example, the purchasing amount of insurance services in 2014 increased by 2.5 times and was about 4 billion rubles.
One of the largest Russian energy companies – RAO ES of the East – carries out on B2B-Center electronic marketplace of purchase of different materials and the equipment and also contract works and services, necessary for accomplishment of production programs of holding. At the same time the range of the goods and services which are purchased on ETP constantly extends.
Use of ETP allows power engineering specialists to solve several important problems at once. Carrying out purchases electronically promotes increase in level of transparency and control of purchasing activity. ETPs allow to attract a large number of participants of procedures and to try to obtain in the conditions of the high competition of the maximum economic effect. At the same time the functionality of B2B-Center provides accomplishment of all requirements of law 223-FZ with the smallest labor costs from the customer, and document handling through modern, brings the intuitive interface to reduction of paper document flow into the companies.
2013: The number of biddings grew by 40%, and their volume — for 45%
The system of B2B-Center showed growth almost by one and a half times at the end of 2013. For the reporting period in a System more than 115 thousand trade procedures for the total amount more than 730 billion rubles were carried out. Thus, according to open trade procedures in 2013 the gain made 40% by quantity and 45% on volumes in comparison with results of 2012.
In industry structure of purchases in 2013 goods and services of a construction complex to which share about a quarter of all purchases in a System (23%) falls are in the lead. The little concedes it a machine-building complex to which share 20% of purchases fall. The third place – at the metallurgical industry – 12% of purchases.
In the construction sector in 2013 the companies bought services design and survey and installation and construction works, in machine-building – the equipment for the mining industry, oil-field and drilling equipment, devices gidro-and pneumoautomatic equipment, and in metallurgical – products of metal working and metallurgy, a hardware and another.
It is remarkable that three largest purchasing industries in 2013 showed the most significant growth in the system of B2B-Center. So, the number of purchases in a construction segment grew almost three times – growth was 268%, purchases of products of metal working - twice, having shown height of 193%, and growth in a segment of electric equipment was 139%.
Besides, in 2013 purchases of products in the field of services of transport and logistics were for the first time carried out. Among organizers of procedures the companies of the food industry (Russky Alkogol Group Ltd, Yug Rusi Group) and the chemical industry (JSC Kordiant) acted.
The companies of the electrical power industry became the largest purchasers in a System at the end of 2013. From number the top 20 falls to the share of electrical power holdings about 35% by quantity and 60% on volumes of the total number of trade procedures of the companies. To the second place there were companies of the mining and metallurgical industries – procedures of these companies top-20 make about 30% of number by quantity and 6% on volumes of the total number of purchases.
In 2013 the number of clients of B2B-Center was replenished with new large purchasers, such as JSC Kordiant, ENERGOPROM MANAGEMENT Ltd, JSC SNHRS, Russky Alkogol Group, Yug Rusi Group, Energomash (Belgorod) — BZEM Ltd, Investgeoservice Ltd, JSC KULZ, JSC Group Ilim, Uralmash NGO Holding LLC, JSC OAK, UK ROSVODOKANAL LLC, Tactical Missile Armament Corporation, JSC United Aircraft Corporation (KAPO of S.P. Gorbunov, JSC VASO, Sukhoi Company, Irkut Corporation), GAZ Group (Automobile plant "Ural", Pavlovo Bus Plant, the Yaroslavl Motor Plant), METALLOINVEST MANAGEMENT COMPANY, JSC International Airport Sheremetyevo and many others.
In six months 2013 made the number of the auction held in B2B-Center electronic trading system more than 47,614 that for 25% exceeds result of the corresponding period of 2012. The total quantity of biddings reached 263,258 for the total amount of 2.6 trillion rub.
The customer base of B2B-Center in the first half of the year 2013 continued the growth. For the reporting period 20,909 companies were connected to a system that is 18% more than result of the same period of 2012. The total quantity of participants of a system makes 130 thousand companies. In reporting period eight regional and corporate marketplaces which are logging in B2B-Center were started.
In the first half of the year in the system of B2B-Center began to carry out purchases electronically of the company of the space-rocket industry — Energiya rocket and space corporation of S.P. Korolyov", productions of arms — "Corporation Tactical missile armament", the construction industry — Globalstroy-Engineering, the enterprises of water channel economy.
2012: Growth of number of trade procedures by 70%
At the end of 2012 the number of complete trade procedures was 79,075 that for 70% exceeds result of 2011. The total quantity of the auction held in a System for December 31, 2011 reached 212,435.
In 2012 the trading volume, carried out in B2B-Center electronic trading system, was 578 billion rubles. The total volume of all trade procedures is 2.4 trillion rubles.
The customer base of a system of B2B-Center increased by 40%. For the reporting period over 35 thousand Russian and foreign companies became users of a System. Among them: JSC NPK Ural Carriage-Building Plant, SUE Moscow Metro, Rosvodokanal Group, JSC Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port, leading enterprise of Kazakhstan for extraction and production of gold of JSC Altyntau Resources and many others. As of December 31, 2012 the number of participants of a system exceeded 100,000 companies. At the same time the average cost of the contract is 7.3 million rubles. The average number of participants on one trade procedure – 3.62 companies.
Growth of the trading volume by 10 times to 784 billion rubles
In 2011 the trading volume, carried out in B2B-Center electronic trading system, was 784 billion rubles that exceeds a similar last year's indicator ten times. The total volume of all trade procedures which are carried out in a System is 1.7 trillion rubles. At the end of 2011 the number of complete trade procedures was more than 46,500 that by 3.5 times exceeds result of 2010. The total quantity of the auction held in a System reached on 12/31/2011 133,428.
Considerably the customer base of a system of B2B-Center grew. For the reporting period over 25 thousand Russian and foreign companies became users of a System. Among them - Mechel Group and 47 of its subsidiaries and affiliates, JSC "Russian Helicopters", JSC UK United Engine Corporation, JSC Ashinskiy metallurgical Works, JSC Zarubezhneft, Federal State Unitary Enterprise Open Source Analitpribor, JSC Inter RAO UES and many others. At the end of year the number of clients of B2B-Center increased by 50% in comparison with 2010 and as of December 31, 2011 exceeded 74,000 companies.
For the first three months 2011 in B2B-Center electronic trading system more than 7,000 trade procedures were carried out that is 3.2 times more, than last year (2.2 thousand biddings in the first quarter 2010). The total quantity of biddings reached 92,000 today. In the first quarter 2011 the trading volume on B2B-Center was 135 billion rubles, by 15 times having exceeded indicators of the same period of last year (9.14 billion rubles). The total volume of all trade procedures which are carried out in a System reached 720 billion rubles. The customer base of B2B-Center in the first quarter continued 2011 the growth, having increased since the beginning of year by 10%. For the reporting period 5.5 thousand organizations were connected to a System, and as of April 1, 2011 the number of clients of B2B-Center exceeded 54.6 thousand companies.
In the first half of the year 2011 the trading volume, carried out in B2B-Center Electronic trading system, was 202 billion rubles that by 7 times exceeds a similar last year's indicator. The total volume of all trade procedures which are carried out in a System within six months increased by 50% and reached 768 billion rubles. For the first half of the year 2011 in a System more than 16,000 trade procedures were carried out that more than exceeds result of the first half of the year 2010 three times. The total quantity of the auction held in a System reached on 7/1/2011 102,000. The customer base of B2B-Center in the first half of the year 2011 continued the growth. For the reporting period 16 thousand organizations were connected to a System, and as of July 1, 2011 the number of clients of B2B-Center exceeded 60 thousand companies.
Within nine months 2011 the trading volume spent in B2B-Center electronic trading system made 290 billion rubles that exceeds a similar last year's indicator five times. The total volume of all trade procedures which are carried out in a System is 874 billion rubles. In nine months 2011 in a System more than 28,000 trade procedures were carried out that more than exceeds result of 2010 three times. The total quantity of the auction held in a System reached on 10/1/2011 114,000. The customer base of B2B-Center continued the growth. For the reporting period over 17,000 organizations became users of a System, and as of October 1, 2011 the number of clients of B2B-Center exceeded 66,000 companies.
Partnership with Moscow transbank
On March 1, 2011 it is announced that Mostransbank became the partner of B2B-Center company. Now users of B2B-Center electronic trading system through functionality of the platform can quickly obtain the electronic bank guarantees (EBG) not only on participation in biddings, but also on performance of the contract and return of advance payment.
Similar cooperation is profitable to both parties. For B2B-Center connection of new bank is an expansion of a range of services and improvement of customer service quality. Growth of number of banks in a System promotes emergence of more interesting offers for consumers. At the moment partners of B2B-Center are three banks.
For Moscow transbank partnership with B2B-Center is first of all, an additional source of new clients and also expansion of the list of services and maintenance of image of hi-tech bank. So, the Moscow transbank is ready to provide EBG within 1-2 days, besides, the client has no need to visit bank department, to transfer to bank turnovers under the contract and to open a checking account. Simplification of the procedure of obtaining the bank guarantee became possible due to use of an electronic document management system, to assurance of documents by means of the electronic digital signature and to implementation in bank of the latest system of credit scoring of clients.
In May, 2011 the B2B-Center company announces the beginning of work in Ukraine. In the Ukrainian domain zone the platform http://B2B-Center.com.ua integrated into a single system of electronic biddings of B2B-Center opened. B2B-Center/Ukraine / Frantskevich Igor is appointed the head. From the beginning of work of B2B-Center.com.ua before the Ukrainian companies new opportunities of business both in the territory of Ukraine, and beyond its limits open. Process of participation in electronic biddings is considerably simplified due to adaptation of all procedures and document flow to a national business environment, the legislation and regulation. Thus, considerably the bigger number of the companies will be able to take part in open tenderings, for receiving and execution of the most advantageous offers on sales and purchases.
Consolidation about the RTS Tender
The operator of electronic biddings the B2B-Center and RTS-Tender electronic platform implemented the joint project on creation of the uniform market of electronic biddings. Within the project of the company integrated data on participants and trade procedures of both systems.
The main field of activity "RTS tender" - the organization of electronic auctions for implementation of the public, municipal and corporate procurements. In January, 2010 the RTS tender became one of five electronic platforms which are selected for implementation of the public and municipal procurements.
According to the CEO "RTS tender"Victor Stepanov, implementation of this project "promotes increase in the competition at the auction held in electronic form".
Alexander Boyko, the chairman of the board of directors of a system of B2B-Center, noted that the project "will help to erase conditional borders between corporate and state sectors".
