Canvas Technology is the American producer of industrial robots. The company offers independently going carts which move in warehouses goods from one place on another. For autonomous movement of the device use  "space artificial intelligence" and modern cameras which help robots not to collide objects and people in the premises and in open territories.

Canvas is founded in 2015, and by April of the 2019th it attracted in total $15 million investments.

2019: Amazon was purchased by Canvas

On April 10, 2019 it became known of Canvas sale to Internet giant Amazon. The cost of the transaction of the company did not begin to be published.

Canvas will join robotic division of Amazon Robots which it was created after Kiva Systems company takeover in 2012 for $775 million. Since then Amazon actively implements robots in the centers of order processing. By their March, 2019 there were about 100 thousand, and they were used in 25 centers.

Purchased Amazon the developer of warehouse Canvas robots

In Deutsche Bank conducted a research which showed that robots who are engaged in transportation of orders in warehouses of Amazon company are 4-5 times more effective than the staff of the company working at a warehouse. The robot executes those transactions for which the person spends 60-75 minutes for 15. 

In the report of Deutsche Bank it is said that robots allowed to reduce operating expenses of each warehouse approximately by 20%. In spite of the fact that installation of robots in each warehouse costs $15-20 million, savings from use of the automated equipment make about $800 million, experts counted.[1]
