Signing of legally binding documents on sale of 30% of the stocks Cognitive Pilot to Sberbank

On November 28, 2019 Sberbank reported TAdviser that together with Cognitive Technologies group combine efforts for development of pilotless technologies and create Cognitive Pilot company. 2017

Office in Tyumen

The Cognitive Technologies company, the developer of artificial intelligence and software in Russia, announced on November 14, 2017 opening of office of the company to Tyumen.

Cognitive Technologies main activities — Tyumen will become projects implementation and implementing solutions on automation of purchasing activity (supply automation) using artificial intelligence technologies and a blockchain for the enterprises of an oil and gas sector. According to the CEO of Cognitive Technologies Andrey Chernogorov, it is target segment of the company in this project.

Among other tasks of the Tyumen office: localization of developments on own platforms and also rendering technical support.

Within the activity in the Tyumen region the Cognitive Technologies company actively develops cooperation with the management of the region in the directions of development of personnel capacity of the region and optimization of IT infrastructure. Together with the Government of the Tyumen region the company started implementation of the educational project, with the assistance of regional technopark, on advanced training of IT specialists and a possibility of their subsequent employment in Cognitive Technologies. Specialists of the company plan educational courses and actions for training of programmers, testers, systems analysts and representatives of other directions of development of IT. Opening of school of programming in the territory of regional technopark became other example of cooperation with the management of the region.

R&D office in Kaliningrad

Cognitive Technologies announced in August, 2017 opening R&D office to Kaliningrad and the beginning of the new international project which purpose is development of the system of purchase management of new generation which functionality will allow to compete successfully in the world markets.

"The project which we started means creation of the specialized front office for implementation of purchasing actions in a b2b segment, the fact that in the world supplier portal (the portal of suppliers) is called. The competitors on these platforms we see SAP Ariba, Coupa and Scout RFP. We aim to create the most convenient instrument of order placement and sales of goods for suppliers and customers. In it we see the main competitive advantage", - the CEO of Cognitive Technologies Andrey Chernogorov told.

The company considers that such opportunity will be reached due to creation of the mechanism of simplification and setup of procedures of order placement under are necessary users. And unlike the analogs existing today, each user will be able to have an own set of procedures.

Its universality will become other distinctive characteristic of the created system. She will be equally capable to be configured under needs of the enterprises of any level, both the small companies, and holding structures.

One of key criteria of the project is also usability of a system. It is supposed that all tunings will be possible to be performed by forces of the user or system administrator.

2016

The statement for growth of revenue for 6%

Total revenue of Cognitive Technologies grew by 6% in comparison with indicators of 2015.

In structure of developments (persons/years) of the company the share of the direction of robotics grew by 10% at once and for the first time for all its history exceeded 35%.

Other large directions of developments of the company are supply automation systems (SRM, ETP) and ECM solutions made about 30% (growth by 5%) and 25% (level of 2015 remained), respectively.

The project direction in total revenue of the company made 88% (2% more, than in 2015). Among the most significant projects implemented by the company in 2016 it is possible to select the following:

Distribution of the industry directions in the general sales pattern was the following:

Apparently, the state order share in the total amount of projects was reduced to 41% (last year 56%). In the field of carrying out scientific research and advanced developments:

  • Methods of modeling of the central (fovealny) sight are developed for technology of computer vision;

The memorandum with the Innopolis SEZ of creation of the technology development center

In January, 2016 the memorandum between JSC SEZ Innopolis (Republic of Tatarstan) and the Russian company Cognitive Technologies about creation based on JSC SEZ Innopolis of own technology development center was signed.

2015: The statement for growth of revenue for 18%

Total revenue of Cognitive Technologies grew by 18% in comparison with indicators of 2014.

According to the President of Cognitive Technologies group Olga Uskova, - "Such result was achieved due to active development of the directions of robotics and mobile solutions". The company opened several new directions connected with use of artificial intelligence technologies and the pilotless systems in the agro-industrial sector. Projects on creation of "smart" agriculture based on the Innovpolis SEZ were initiated together with Rostselmash, Tatneft and "Union-agro" with assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The share of projects (persons/years) on robotics in structure of developments of the company for 2015 reached 24%. Approximately the same share is occupied also by two other large blocks – creation of automation systems of supply (SRM, MDM and PPM) and the ECM solution.

The project direction in total revenue of the company made 86% (2% more, than in 2014).

Distribution of the industry directions in the general sales pattern was the following:

Users of an electronic document management system and business process automation "E1 Euphrates" in 2015 became more than 2100 new organizations (that for 5% exceeds indicators of last year). According to Andrey Chernogorov, "Release of mobile application "of E1 Euphrates" in the end of the year allowed us to collect in two months a portfolio of preorders for the amount more than 250 million rubles. It is possible to predict that in 2016 the sales volume of mobile solutions, both as a part of projects, and in the form of separate solutions will exceed 1 billion rubles".

In the general structure of turnover of this direction the segment of medium and small business (its share grew for last year by 7% and made 32%), generally at the expense of medium-sized enterprises remains the main customer. The share of the large organizations remained approximately at the same level of 24%. The sector of government institutions made 36%. About 8% fell to the share of the companies with state participation last year.

2014

The statement for growth of revenue for 33%

Total revenue of Cognitive Technologies grew by 33% in comparison with indicators of 2013.

According to the president of Cognitive Technologies group Olga Uskova, - "Success reasons, in many respects, are connected with development of two main activities of the company: import substitution within which we invested more than 400 million rubles in creation of new technological solutions including enterprise managements and also our participation in the large-scale project on creation of the unmanned vehicle by 2020 on which implementation Ministry of Education and Science Russia selected 300 million rubles".

In solution of the problem of import substitution of Cognitive Technologies the technology platform using open software tools in addition to own software (PostgreSQL Linux i Apache) and allowing domestic enterprises to substitute the foreign systems in the key fields of the IT market including an enterprise management segment was created. In the company the Competence Center of developments on DBMS PostgreSQL was dug out. Specialists of Cognitive Technologies for the last year completed development of 5 system modules of enterprise management: ECM CRM PPM SRM and MDM.

Due to the active development of the project direction in total revenue of the company its share grew by 18% and made 84%.

In the general structure of income in the project direction 61% were the share of software development. On IT services of 39% (approximately the same indicators, as well as last year).

The state order share in the total amount of projects made 49%. At the same time about 12% of turnover of the company, about the same as and last year were the share of the largest customer.

At the end of year Cognitive Technologies became operator of the largest five electronic marketplaces of Russia. The management system for purchases of the company is installed the aggregate turnover of which is estimated at JSC Gazprombank, Avtodor Group, JSC Rosseti, JSC UEMP and also JSC Rosneft by analysts about 3 trillion rubles.

Besides, in 2014 Cognitive Technologies, within development of the direction of development of electronic marketplaces and automation systems of purchases, opened new office in Belarus (Minsk). The company is going to bring the number of his employees to 500 people in the next three years.

In the field of carrying out scientific research and advanced developments for last year there were next events:

  • Methods of delimitation of a roadbed and the direction of the movement "Virtual Tunnel" are developed for technology of computer vision;
  • Methods of detection and classification of road signs are developed for technology of computer vision;
  • It is developed methods of detection of a road marking for technology of computer vision;

Collecting from Skolkovo Foundation of 80 million rub

On February 26, 2014 the Board of the Supreme Arbitration Court took out Determination about failure in transfer to Presidium of the Supreme Arbitration Court of business on the claim of Kognitivnye tekhnologii LLC to Non-profit organization Fund of development of the Center of development and commercialization of new technologies on debt collection for the agreement on development of the concept "Smart city of Skolkovo". Thus, the Board of VAS confirmed decisions of Arbitration court of Moscow of 5/7/2013. The ninth arbitration Court of Appeal of 8/16/2013 resolutions of Federal arbitration court of the Moscow district of 10/30/2013. The decision on collecting from fund for benefit of society is collected 80,765,100 rubles of debt and 610,786 rubles of interest for using someone else's money took legal effect.

"Cognitive technologies" took Arbitration court of Moscow with the recovery suit from Non-profit organization Fund of development of the Center of development of commercialization of new technologies of debt on the development agreement of the concept "Smart city of Skolkovo" from 10/3/2012 for 11/5/2012.

The consortium which, together with Cognitive Technologies company, included the leading world companies Ernst&Young Cisco and Panasonic, developed the Concept "The smart city of "Skolkovo", integrated materials about the social and economic, investment and technology strategy of creation of the Innovation center and the Smart city of "Skolkovo". Authors of the Concept relied on sociological and conceptual bases, results of sociological researches, the analysis of preferences and ideas of domestic innovators of the Smart city. World experience regarding urbanistics – Richard Florida, Ya. Jan Gehl, J. Jacobs's about 20 works (Jacobs, Jane), etc. and also experience of creation of the different smart cities and campuses of the world – Singapore, Bangalore, Fudzhisava, Endkhoven, New York, Copenhagen, San Francisco, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Masdar, a campus Google, a campus of Pixar, a campus of MIT, a campus of the University Dalian, a campus of the University Changchun was used.

The concept "The smart city of "Skolkovo" was approved on five round tables which integrated all main directions of the innovation sector: scientific community, innovators, investors, foreign specialists, representatives of the innovation business. It was recommended by the Civic chamber of the Russian Federation to the Government of the Russian Federation for implementation in regions and the large cities of Russia.

All works were performed according to technical specifications and in the terms provided by the agreement that is recorded by the relevant documents.

Despite it, the defendant, Non-profit organization Fund of development of the Center of development of commercialization of new technologies, refused to pay the performed works and terminated the agreement unilaterally.

During trial to court all documents confirming the claimant's position, a withdrawal of the Expert advisory board on program implementation "The smart city" on execution of works of the Concept of 7/10/2012 No. 3, a response of the vice-chairman of Scientific and technical council "to Russian Technologies State Corporation were submitted. Having considered the merits of the case, the Arbitration court of Moscow made the decision on the satisfaction of the claim which was confirmed consistently by decisions of the Ninth arbitration Court of Appeal, Federal arbitration court of the Moscow district.

2013

The statement for growth of revenue for 8%

Total revenue of Cognitive Technologies grew by 8% in comparison with indicators of 2012 that according to the company corresponds to the general dynamics of growth of the Russian IT market (by different estimates from 6% to 8%). In total revenue of the company the share of projects on development and deployment of software grew by 7% and made 66%. According to the President of Cognitive Technologies Olga Uskova,

"Progress of the project direction, in many respects, is connected with large-scale implementation of technologies of automation of purchasing activity and creation of electronic marketplaces based on the solution Cognitive Lot in the key industry enterprises of the country: Gazprom, Rosneft, municipalities and other structures. The company quickly reacted to change of the legislation regarding the introduction since January 1, 2014 with Federal Law No. 44 about a contract system, having updated the software solutions in this segment".

Cognitive Technologies reacted also to other trend of year in a segment of electronic procurement – active development of cloud solutions for the systems of the normative reference information (NRI) – automated control systems for all data set of large enterprise about buyers and suppliers, products and the used materials, divisions, warehouses, branches, etc. – on - essences, the blood system of the enterprise. The company developed own solution and is implemented on electronic marketplace of Gazprombank (joint stock company).

Cloud NSI essentially changed traditional approaches to implementation of systems. Actually, the stage of implementation also managed to be excluded practically from the project as one of the most labor-consuming and expensive procedures. With creation of similar technologies the organization has an opportunity "download" the NSI in a remote, cloud resource which will automatically perform necessary tunings synchronizes information, adapts it to specific competitive procedures and will support her in current status. At the same time providing all necessary requirements for information security. Turnover on this segment grew more, than for 20% made about 41% of the general share of the project direction.

Technologies of mass document handling became other significant sector of developments. Its share made about 29%. The rest was made by projects on creation of electronic archives, electronic document management systems, development of infrastructure of the enterprises and ensuring functioning of the IC.

Advanced developments

In the field of carrying out scientific research and advanced developments for 2012 there were next events:

  • The prototype of a system of computer vision in a problem of recognition of a road scene (recognitions of a roadbed, recognition of participants of the movement, the analysis of dynamics of development of a road situation, forecasting of dangers, formation of a system of the warning signals and corrective actions) in real time is created;
  • For the first time in Russia the industrial processing system of primary accounting documents (invoices, commodity-transport delivery notes, etc.) is implemented.
  • The system of artificial intelligence allowing to automatically determine and understand different document types is developed;
  • The algorithm of recognition of fields (details) of the document in the mode of 256 gray gradations is developed that allows to increase recognition accuracy considerably. All previous solutions are based on use of methods of binarization of the image (the b/w mode);
  • The technology of syntax analysis of the tabular information is developed for the solution of a task to processing of primary accounting documentation;
  • The technology of classification of goods items when processing primary accounting documentation using methods of fuzzy retrieval is developed;
  • Methods of performance improvement of computing systems using parallel computings are developed.

2012: The statement for growth of revenue for 28%

Total revenue of Cognitive Technologies grew by 28% in comparison with indicators of 2011 that exceeds assessment of growth of the Russian market (17% according to IDC) in general. According to the President of Cognitive Technologies Olga Uskova "Such dynamics became possible thanks to active development of the product directions and first of all an electronic document management system and automation business of processes Euphrates of E1".

In total revenue of the company the share of projects on development and deployment of software made 59%. The share of sales of the software made 41%. In this segment of sale of a main product - the E1 Euphrates systems in 2012 grew twice, in comparison with last year. As a result Euphrates in 2012 more than 2000 new organizations (for comparison, 1750 in 2011) became users of E1 system. In the general structure of turnover the share of the large organizations of 20% (against 13% in 2011) and also government institutions of 30% considerably grew (against 23% in 2011). It occurred due to reduction of the sector of SMB from 43% to 27%. The share of the sector of the companies with state participation remained approximately at the same level of 19% (15% in 2011). 4% - remained behind Higher education institutions.

According to CNews Analytics (RBC) Cognitive Technologies it is called the largest solution provider in the field of EDMS at the end of 2012.

In the general structure of income in the project direction 65% are the share of software development. About 35% are the share of IT services. The state order share in the total amount of projects left 51% (remained approximately at the same level, as well as last year). At the same time about 15% of turnover of the company were the share of the largest customer (14% in 2011).

2011

The statement for growth of revenue for 25%

According to the statement of the company, total revenue of Cognitive Technologies for 2011 grew by 25% in comparison with indicators of 2010 that exceeds assessment of growth of the Russian market almost twice (by data Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Russia — 14.6%) in general. Serious changes happened in sales pattern of the company. So, for the first time for many years in total revenue the share of sales of the software approached 50% and made 41% against 27% in 2010, and the share of projects on development and deployment of software was reduced from 73% to 59%, respectively.

Thus, the share of sales of software of the company grew twice, says Cognitive Technologies. In the general structure of turnover of 43% of sales "Euphrates" was the share to E1 of the sector of the small and medium enterprises, 29% — of the state organizations, 15% — of state companies and 13% — of large business companies.

Also 2011 became successful for the direction of the systems of mass processing of document forms. For 2011 more than 700 licenses of the Cognitive Passport system (dynamics of sales of this product was more than 30%) were sold, and the general growth of sales volume in this direction was about 21%.

In the general revenue breakdown in the project direction on software development 65%, are the share of IT services — about 35%. The state order share in the total amount of projects was reduced from 67% to 53%. At the same time about 14% of turnover of the company were the share of the largest customer (17% in 2010).

The main events in the field of scientific research and advanced developments

In the field of carrying out scientific research and advanced developments for 2011 there were next events: the robotic Cognitive Nexus platform providing a possibility of simultaneous operation with different DBMS is developed; active researches in the field of adaptive case management — technologies of creation of optimal (intellectual) models of routes of documents in the enterprise are begun; the development stage of technology of processing and image compression of Cognitive PDF/A allowing to improve visual image quality of the document is completed and to effectively squeeze images of documents (the good result, according to Cognitive Technologies, is received for the realization account in technology of model of expert system), the Cognitive PDF/A technology is capable to understand type and structure of the document and to automatically select the most suitable mode of processing.

2009: Conflict with FAIT

Cognitive Technologies entered the conflict with the Federal agency on information technologies (FAIT). In January, 2009 the representative of FAIT Sergey Matiukhin said that his department prepares documents for submission of the claim against Cognitive Technologies. Department was not satisfied with results of the project on development of a monitoring system of media executed by the company for the press service of the Russian President Administration. Cognitive Technologies accused FAIT of corruption and threatened to submit a response claim if its project will not be approved.

1993: Cognitive Technologies creation

In 1993 based on Laboratory of artificial intelligence of Institute of Systems Analysis of RAS (the former VNIISI of Academy of Sciences of the USSR) by Olga Uskova and Vladimir Arlazarov the Cognitive Technologies company was created.

Interesting Facts

Cognitive Technologies became the first-ever company which opened the code to the system of recognition of printing texts (OCR CuneiForm). This solution was included into the collection "The Free Software for Education, Sciences and Cultures" published by UNESCO. This OCR system was postponed by forces of community for the Linux platform. In April, 2009 the ALT Linux company released the first version of Cuneiform-Qt, the graphical interface to Cuneiform for Linux.
