Comsa Computer und Software is the Munich company which develops the software for creation of electrical and cable systems. Its LDorado software package is among leaders in the development area and design of the automobile systems in Germany.

History

2018: Siemens purchased Comsa Computer und Software

On December 3, 2018 Siemens announced acquisition of Comsa Computer und Software company which will join with all staff of employees Mentor Graphics company which is a part of Siemens PLM Software. The transaction should expand possibilities of Siemens for design of products from different lines and the analysis of their data and to give them according to the European standards.

The president and the CEO of Siemens PLM Software Tony Hemmelgarn noted that acquisition of COMSA – only one of examples of permanent investments of Siemens into development of technologies of automotive industry.

Siemens purchased software developer for creation of the automobile systems

According to Bishop and Associates, in 2017 world income in the market of cable systems was $155 billion, at the same time about 30% of the market are the share of automotive industry. Cable systems are the third most expensive component in the car (after the engine and a running gear). They gather on one and about 50% of the labor power spent for creation of all car are responsible for payment.

Cable systems are also the third heaviest component of the car after a running gear and the engine. Any technologies which are capable to lose this weight directly promote economy of fuel and, respectively, increase competitive capacity of the car. Thanks to new acquisition of Siemens is going to expand deliveries of technology offers, in particular for the solution of the problems, new to automotive industry, caused by emergence of unmanned vehicles and electric vehicles.

The transaction was closed on December 3, 2018, its financial parts are not disclosed.[1]
