2019: Qlik purchased Crunch Data

At the end of January, 2019 the Qlik company announced Crunch Data acquisition, but did not set the price of the transaction. Under the terms of the agreement, the buyer will receive the chat-bot CrunchBot for data analysis and also a team of experienced specialists in the field of artificial intelligence.

Thanks to Crunch Data purchase users of the products Qlik had an opportunity to interact with the chat-bot CrunchBot for processing of the natural speech via the Qlik Sense tool or popular messengers, like Slack, Skype, Salesforce Chat and Microsoft Teams. Along with normal answers service provides the additional context information in the form of automatically generated charts, the selected key factors and forecasts of separate indicators. CrunchBot also allows users to dictate questions using voice assistants, such as Amazon Alexa.

Qlik purchased the developer of chat-bots

Qlik cooperated with Crunch Data in the field of the analysis of the normal human speech long ago. Crunch Data says that a main objective of the company — to allow the users businessmen who are especially badly grounded in data slicing pane quicker and more effectively to make decisions on the basis of the arriving analytical information which is stated by language, clear for them. Use of opportunities of CrunchBot and Crunch Data within Qlik will help users easier to adapt in the environment of data analysis and to make it an important element of daily work, the press release says.

According to forecasts of Gartner analytical company, by 2020 50% of analytical requests will be generated using search, NLP and a voice communication or will be automatically generated. CrunchBot already uses unique technology of natural language processing (NLM) which traces requests of users and constantly studies.

CrunchBot is available to clients of Qlik and will add the Qlik Sense platform in the second quarter 2019.[1]
