CyberHeart is the producer of the medical equipment founded in 2003. The company develops solutions for noninvasive treatment of cardiac arrhythmias using radio ablation – techniques which can be used by oncologists, medical physics, electrophysiologists and heart surgeons. The headquarters of CyberHeart is located to Mountain View, the State of California.

History

2019: Varian purchased CyberHeart

At the beginning of May, 2019 Varian Medical Systems announced CyberHeart acquisition. Purchase granted to Varian the rights to intellectual property / patents of CyberHeart which concern different aspects of use of radiation at a disease of a cardiovascular system.

Early positive results of clinical trials demonstrate that radio ablation of heart can give hope to patients with violations of a warm rhythm hard to cure. According to the staff of Varian, radio ablation can designate paradigm shift, having integrated in treatment of patients with heart diseases two specialties — radiation oncology and electrophysiology of heart.

Varian purchased the developer of the noninvasive equipment for treatment of arrhythmia

Varian has wide experience of implementation of innovations in the field of radiation medicine and successfully commercialized technology of radio surgery for treatment of both benign, and malignant tumors. Acquisition of CyberHeart company and its patents is an important step in the long-term strategy of Varian which aims to become the world leader in radiation medicine.

Early studies of radio ablation among patients with cardiac arrhythmias were published in the New England Journal of Medicine and Circulation editions. Though technologies of radio ablation of heart are not approved yet by regulatory bodies, specialists consider that results of these researches are rather promising to guarantee investments into this area.

Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed.[1]
