DrChrono is the startup developing the mobile system of electronic record of the same name (Electronic Health Record, EHR) for doctors and patients. The platform allows to arrange documentation, analysis results and records about patients. The last, in turn, get convenient access to the medical records. By April, 2017 more than 8 million patients and 93 thousand doctors are connected to DrChrono.

2017: Investments of the Russian investors

In April, 2017 it became known of investment into DrChrono. The round of financing headed the international venture fund with the Russian roots Runa Capital.

In addition to Runa Capital, venture funds FunderClub, Maxfield Capital and the CEO of Quicken Eric Dunn took part in the investment transaction. DrChrono received $12 million from investors, and the general amount of investments into the companies by April, 2017 exceeded $19 million. In 2014-2015 Runa Capital and Maxfield Capital invested $4.69 million in DrChrono. In due time the Russian businessman Yury Milner also invested in the company.

The DrChrono system can work on different devices

DrChrono is going to spend the received funds for sales increase in a segment of large medical networks and development of the solution for management of finance in clinics.

According to the head of Runa Capital Dmitry Galperin, the American market of EHR solutions is very fragmented: his leader occupies with Athena Health only 2.7%, and capitalization of the company makes $4.4 billion.

In the USA any company can propose the solution. But there are regulations where it is registered what should be the minimum functionality of such projects to certain dates. Many companies are not in time and leave the market. DrChrono goes with advancing and actually takes away their market shares, – he told.

Runa Capital is the venture fund with the Russian roots created for search of investment opportunities in quickly developing information technology fields with a special focus on cloud computing, the difficult software, virtualization and mobile applications.[1]
