FIH Mobile (Foxconn International Holding) is subsidiary company of the Chinese producer of electronics (electronic components and finished products) Foxconn.

The company, among other things, is engaged in HMD Global production — mobile devices under a brand of Nokia. It is also known for participation in creation of such devices as PlayStation, Xbox, iPhone and Blackberry.

History

2018: Agreement with Sirin Labs on joint development of the Finney cryptosmartphone

The Sirin Labs company announced on April 5, 2018 cooperation in the development areas and productions of smartphones with FIH Mobile, Foxconn subsidiary company. The first functioning Finney cryptosmartphone prototype as it is supposed, will appear in the middle of the second quarter 2018. Read more here.

2016: Purchase from Microsoft of business on release of normal mobile phones

On May 18, 2016 Microsoft announced sale business on release of normal mobile phones more than for a third of one billion dollars. This transaction will allow Nokia company to return to the world market of smartphones and tablets.

According to the statement Microsoft, the company sells all assets connected with development and production of push-button telephones of initial level, the Chinese FIH Mobile ("subsidiary" of Foxconn Technology Group) and the Finnish HMD Global for $350 million. The transaction is going to be closed in the second half of 2016, previously regulating authorities should approve it. Read more here.
