OJSC "Federal Passenger Company" - a subsidiary of JSC "Russian Railways" - was established in accordance with the program of structural reforms in railway transport and the concept of reforming the long-distance passenger complex. It began its activities FPC April 1, 2010.

OJSC "Federal Passenger Company" is the absolute leader in the market of transport services for the transportation of passengers in long-distance transportation, with a share in the total passenger turnover of all types of transport - 65.7%.

The company includes 16 regional passenger service directorates (RDOP), 43 passenger car depots, 29 car sections, 15 railway agencies and 2 passenger service directorates. The company's railcar fleet has more than 24.6 thousand cars. The number of personnel is about 100 thousand people.

2023: Revenue growth by a quarter to 316 billion rubles

The Federal Passenger Company (FPC) in 2023 increased revenue by a quarter compared to 2022 - up to 316 billion rubles. The net profit of the operator of passenger and baggage transportation in long-distance travel during this time increased from 11 billion to 21 billion rubles. At the same time, in 2020-2021. losses were recorded at the level of 33.6 billion and 5.4 billion rubles, respectively. Such data are given in the reports of the FPC under RAS, published in February 2024.

According to Interfax, citing FPC materials, in 2023, the company's revenues from passenger transportation amounted to 279 billion rubles, which is more than a year ago at 221 billion rubles. The total debt of the company by the end of 2023 turned out to be equal to 105 billion rubles, having decreased by 2.5% on an annualized basis. Long-term liabilities decreased by 18.5%, to 33.9 billion rubles; short-term - increased by 7.9%, to 70.9 billion rubles.

Federal Passenger Company (FPC) in 2023 increased revenue by a quarter

FPC is a national passenger railway carrier of the Russian Federation. The company's route network is based on the railway infrastructure of Russian Railways - the third longest railway network in the world (data at the end of 2023). The organizational structure of the FPC includes:

  • control device;
  • 5 centers;
  • 10 regional branches;
  • 6 companies with the participation of JSC "FPC."

The branches include 23 passenger car depots, 36 car sections, 10 railway agencies, a center for organizing vehicle transportation, and a directorate for organizing passenger catering.

FPC is a "daughter" of Russian Railways. Russian Railways themselves previously reported on the transportation of 122 million passengers on long-distance trains in 2023, which is 12.7% more compared to 2022. Relative to 2019, when there was no COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, passenger traffic in 2023 increased by 4.7%.[1]
