The Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) is the federal executive authority of the Russian Federation performing functions on control and supervision in the field of health care and social development.
The Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare is under authority of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. On May 21, 2012 it is renamed into Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) and subordinated to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Alla Samoylov - the new head of Roszdravnadzor
On April 10, 2020 the prime minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin appointed Alla Samoylova the head of Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) instead of Mikhail Murashko who at the beginning of a year became a Minister of Health. Read more here.
Output from subordination of the Russian Ministry of Health
In January, 2020 the president Russia Vladimir Putin signed the decree "About Structure of Federal Executive Authorities" which brought Roszdravnadzor and Federal Medical Biological Agency (FMBA) out of subordination To the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
According to the text of the document, "the leadership in activity of Federal Service for State Registration, Cartography and Cadastre, Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare and Federal Medical Biological Agency performs the Government of the Russian Federation".
Resubordination Roszdravnadzor and FMBA happened after on January 15, 2020 the government of the former Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev resigned. Such decision was made by Kabmin right after the message of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Federal Assembly. The government was headed by the former head of the Federal Tax Service Mikhail Mishustin.
The prime minister Mikhail Mishustin appointed Dmitry Parkhomenko the acting as the head of Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor). Earlier he was a deputy manager of this service.
On January 23, 2020 Veronika Skvortsova became the head of Federal Medical Biological Agency, and Vladimir Uyba who held this post since November, 2004 is appointed the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.
The Skvortsova's activity often was exposed to criticism. Before resignation of the government Vladimir Putin also spoke about problems in the field of health care. In particular, he showed discontent with a situation in primary link.
