History
2019: Physics of RAS and MIPT defined type of quasiparticles in semiconductor carbon nanotubes
On December 5, 2019 in MIPT reported that scientists from Institute of the general physics of A.M. Prokhorov of RAS and MIPT together with colleagues investigated influence of "traps" on optical properties of carbon nanotubes. When processing separate hydrogen atoms remain hydrochloric acid on a surface of tubes. They do not form chemical bonds with a surface, and, so do not enter defects to structure of a nanotube. These atoms serve as "traps" — the quasiparticle which got to their zone of influence cannot "run away" (becomes localized). Based on the data obtained by spectroscopy methods, physicists came to a conclusion — in "trap" got an exciton (consists of an electron and "hole") and trion (an exciton which one more hole or an electron joined).
