Along with a kondensatorostroyeniye at institute a number of the major directions in the field of passive components, first of all, such as nonlinear semiconductor resistors, noise suppressing filters, precision not wire potentiometers, photo-electric and light-wave devices, special materials, etc. gained development.

Throughout more than 70 years' scientific and technical activity the institute continued to be engaged in development of traditional types of the products – condensers and nonlinear semiconductor resistors.

Besides, within the last 55 years at institute are developed in the field of the IK-equipment as a result of which the manufacturing techniques of semiconductor IR receivers of radiation which do not have world analogs are created. Based on this technology the lineup of infrared multirange interference-immune fire annunciators of a flame "ALARM" (IP332-1/1 … 5) for application in the normal and explosive environment is developed and mastered in serial production.

Today the main objective of institute – development of the competitive products corresponding to world level. The intellectual property of institute makes 45 patents of the Russian Federation and 1500 copyright certificates of the USSR for inventions. Products are mentioned by more than 500 medals of different exhibitions and fairs, from them 31 gold. Only for the last 5 years of development in the field of the fire annunciators "ALARM" are awarded 6 gold and one silver medals of the specialized exhibitions "For the Best Technical Solution".

JSC scientific research institute Girikond" is a part of Russian Electronics holding and is the basic enterprise of a radio-electronic complex of the Russian Federation in the field of condensers and nonlinear semiconductor resistors".

The institute develops now and makes electronic components, sensors and devices as universal application, and unique products for specific and extreme operating conditions (for a very high frequency frequency range, for work at the increased temperatures and mechanical loadings, etc.) and materials for them:

• condensers: ceramic, oxidic, with organic dielectric and with a double electric layer (ionistor)
• noise suppressing ceramic filters
• nonlinear semiconductor resistors: thermoresistors, pozistor, varistors
• potentiometers are precision not wire
• photoelectric and optoelectronic cells and devices
