2020: Production of a 5G equipment in Russia

At the beginning of February, 2020 it became known of cooperation of Globalinformservice company (GIS) and Sozvezdiye concern (enters into Rostec Group), within which joint development of the equipment for a 5G networks will be adjusted.

As the representative of Rostec told Vedomosti, GIS and Constellation cooperate long ago, but since 2019 partnership became closer. Jointly developed model of the base station of fourth generation of communication for accomplishment of the national program "Digital Economy" of the company, they will be produced serially by Constellation. There are no similar domestic complete solutions for networks of fifth generation in the market yet, declared in Rostec.

Earlier GIS received the status of the leading research center in end-to-end digital technology of wireless access. It allowed the company to receive a grant on development of the equipment for fifth generation of communication from "The Russian venture capital company" in the amount of 224 million rubles. Under the terms of providing a grant the project should be co-financed by the developer for 114 million rubles.

It is not the largest sum taking into account that Minpromtorg estimated expenses on development of networks of fifth generation and Internet of Things at 28 billion rubles (16 billion were supposed to select from the federal budget and 12 billion — from non-budgetary sources). This amount contains also in the draft of the target program "Development of Production of Industrial Output of Networks of Fifth Generation and Internet of Things for 2019−2024.

Domestic Globalinformservice and Constellation did not set terms of development and preproduction to a 5G equipment by the beginning of February, 2020.

So far the state did not decide what frequencies will be selected for fifth generation of communication therefore unclear under what ranges to do the equipment, the head of Telecom Daily Denis Kuskov noted.^[1]
