The American company HID Global Corporation is equipment manufacturer for control and management systems for access to premises, access restrictions to the computer and local networks. HID develops and makes the RFID access cards, charms, tags, smart cards, magnetic stripe cards and smart readers working based on iClass, Mifare and Proximity technologies and also biometric readers of a fingerprint.

HID Global is a part of the Swedish ASSA ABLOY group, this is the global player in the field of means of locking of doors (locks), is engaged in an electronic part of all these devices.

The equipment of HID Global is open and compatible to products of all global manufacturers of controllers and locks, ourselves do not make them. The company offers composite maps of access control of Crescendo which can serve also for opening of doors, and for access to computers.

Creating identifiers, HID Global has one of the widest product portfolios and services for management of identification and access, including multifactor authentication, physical identification and access control, management of credentials, the digital signature and digital enciphering.

History

2020: Bjørn Lidefelt is the new CEO of HID Global

In February, 2020 the decision maker on management of identification data of HID Global announced Bjørn Lidefelt's appointment  the new president and the CEO of the company. It replaced Stefan Vidinga who directed the company for more than four years. Read more here.

2019: Purchase of the international business of the solutions De La Rue for identification

On July 11, 2019 it became known that HID Global, the company in the field of solutions for identification, signed the agreement on acquisition of the international business of technical solutions for identification of De La Rue company. 2015: Quantum Secure acquisition

On April 8, 2015 the HID Global company announces acquisition of Quantum Secure company, the leading supplier of software solutions for management of identification data, observance of requirements to access and providing access within physical infrastructure of security. The company expects that this acquisition will allow HID Global to expand the opportunities for release of complete solutions for management of identification.

2014: Lumidigm acquisition

On February 13, 2014 HID Global announced acquisition of Lumidigm company - the world leader in the field of the solutions of authentication using multispectral technology of imagery, the software and biometric fingerprint scanners for confirmation of the personality with high degree of reliability.

1991: Creation of the company

The HID Global company arose in 1991 and at first was engaged only in access control, in particular access card readers. Further thanks to a number of acquisitions the range considerably extended and, in particular, products for identification appeared. The company proposes solutions not only on physical access, but also on access to computer networks and also means of personalisation, first of all list devices of cards.
