At the end of October 2022, there is a replacement with clean solutions from countries friendly to Russia.

Relocation of employees from the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

Huawei moved some of the employees from Russia Kazakhstan Uzbekistan to and reoriented them to work in countries. This CIS is written "" with Sheets reference to a source close to the company, as well as one of the partners of the Chinese company in the Russian Federation.

Huawei began to redistribute Russian employees to work in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from the spring of 2022, a source close to Huawei told the publication. According to the source of the newspaper, some of these employees are managers and heads of Huawei units from China. They were sent to Russia at the beginning of 2022, but were subsequently redirected to other CIS countries, he added.

Huawei moved some of its employees from Russia to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

According to Denis Kuskov, general director of the analytical agency Telecom Daily, mainly workers are transferred to Kazakhstan.

File:Aquote1.png
The company began transferring employees in July - August, and Kazakhstan was chosen because of all the CIS countries, this market is the largest and most promising for Huawei in the region, "Kuskov explained.
File:Aquote2.png

In a new place, employees will develop the company's business in the CIS countries. According to Kuskov, the company went into relocation due to fears of secondary US sanctions and the loss of the European market. Now the vendor faces a reduction in revenue in Russia and the CIS. At the end of July, Huawei cut 50% of freelance employees who worked for it in Russia.

Huawei transfers all operations to the CIS, and supplies goods for parallel imports to Russia, formally having nothing to do with them, added Mikhail Burmistrov, general director of Infoline Analytics. This will lead to a certain increase in the cost of the company's products, including due to the fact that retailers will include a guarantee in the price, the expert said.

According to Felix Kugel, managing director of the personnel company Unity, not all developers are ready to move, they are not always offered a rather attractive relocation package.[4]

In Russian stores, most of the equipment was marked with "not for sale" signs

Visitors, unable to buy a smartphone or laptop, can purchase headphones, cases and other accessories. Delcredere lawyer Yegor Kovalev explained to Kommersant that the buyer has no right to demand the sale of goods with a "not for sale" or "demo sample" plate. He refers to the norms of legislation on a public offer (Article 494 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). According to Kovalev, consumer rights would be violated if several samples of the same product were marked with a plate.

Employees of most Huawei stores could not answer Kommersant's question when sales will resume. One of the Moscow stores expects the supply of equipment in September 2022. The store in Novosibirsk assures that the goods should appear "within two weeks."

One of the employees in the Moscow store explained the difficulties with the receipt of goods "problems with parallel imports." At the same time, the equipment of the Chinese Huawei was not included in the list of goods that are allowed to be imported into Russia without the consent of the manufacturer.

Store employees Chelyabinsk in told the publication that they cannot establish parallel imports, as they are official retailer Huawei.

Not all Huawei stores will see a "not for sale" sign. They are not, for example, in a Moscow store in the Seasons trading gallery. The visitor can purchase all the equipment on display there. The operator of this store is Volga LLC. The store on the electronics manufacturer's website is called "authorized," not branded, the publication points out.

Stores in which the display model is not purchased belong to the operator Premium Retail LLC. According to the Huawei website, in general, 13 monobrand stores operate in Russia, nine of which are managed by Premium Retail.

Huawei has sharply increased recruitment in Russia

Market participants interviewed by Kommersant believe that Huawei intends to remain on the Russian market and for this is working out schemes for the supply of equipment and electronics through parallel imports, or will create a separate brand for work within the country.

Zelax President Sergei Sukhman, in a conversation with the publication, noted that due to the departure of foreign companies, many specialists entered the labor market, most of whom were taken by Huawei.

File:Aquote1.png
Given the fact that in the domestic IT industry and R&D against the background of the crisis, the need for specialists has aggravated, it is unreasonable that the Chinese company is taking the personnel. We give her specialists to then buy developments made by their hands, "he said.

According to the source, enterprise-class IT solutions of the Chinese company are not available to customers from April 2022. In April, the company turned to the equipment manufacturer and was refused.

File:Aquote1.png
Due to the inability to purchase industrial storage and server equipment, we plan to use less efficient systems and servers. Now we are looking at what is on the market, and where possible we will use the middle-class equipment that is on the market, "a source shared with TAdviser.
File:Aquote2.png

The Huawei press service refrained from commenting.

Another source in a large state-owned bank confirmed to TAdviser that Huawei has suspended the supply of DSS and server equipment. At the same time, he clarified that this affected high-performance corporate equipment, and certain classes of systems of the Chinese company are still available in Russia.

An employee of the Russian office of Huawei, on condition of anonymity, explained to TAdviser that the company did not stop deliveries under previously concluded contracts. However, due to a logistics violation due to COVID-19, and then a shortage of semiconductors, supply delays were back in 2021. Sanctions against Russia, imposed since February 2022, have exacerbated the situation. Due to the fact that it is difficult to fulfill obligations even under existing contracts, the management of the parent company "froze" the conclusion of new contracts for the supply of IT equipment. In parallel, the company is developing anti-crisis measures in case of tougher sanctions against Russia.

Huawei bought a business center in St. Petersburg for 5 billion rubles and will place an R&D center there

According to Andrei Lukashev, the successful location of the Kantemirovsky business center in St. Petersburg will allow Huawei to attract personnel and build relations with universities.

Tactics Group CFO Andrei Novikov says that it is becoming profitable for many companies to locate their offices in St. Petersburg, since there are several special economic zones that offer a number of tax benefits and other preferences to their residents.

The newspaper notes that the transfer of employees to a new office will allow Huawei, which failed to buy out the Novospassky business center in Moscow, to receive a number of benefits from Smolny. This solution will also help solve the problem with personnel - it is easier to find IT specialists in the St. Petersburg market than in the capital of the Russian Federation.

Intention to invest 50 million rubles in the development of 5G in Russia within 5 years

On October 8, 2019, Huawei announced that Ken Hu, Deputy Chairman of the Company's Board, made a presentation on accelerating the deployment of 5G networks in Eurasia.

File:Aquote1.png
Mr. Hu noted: "5G technologies began to be used much faster than, for example, this happened with 4G. Thus, 40 operators from 20 countries have already launched 5G networks into commercial use. 2/3 of these projects are being implemented in conjunction with Huawei. We are pleased to see Eurasia moving confidently towards 5G rollout. Especially here, in Russia, leading operators are actively working on the creation of pre-commercial test 5G zones and demonstrate real cases of using technologies of this communication standard. We all know that the introduction of 5G is a big and hard work of all market participants. We have to face many difficulties, however, at Huawei we believe that innovation and the creation of a single ecosystem will speed up the process of commercial launch of 5G. "
File:Aquote2.png

According to a Huawei spokesman, 5G will completely change the user experience. The user needs speed.

File:Aquote1.png
For example, in Moscow, in the joint pilot zone, MTS and Huawei demonstrated an unprecedented download speed - 3.7 Gbps. This is 150 times faster than the average speed of fourth-generation mobile networks in Russia in October 2019, "said Mr. Hu.
File:Aquote2.png

According to Ken Hu, 5G will open up incredible opportunities for industries. An example of a 5G application is the use of high-resolution video to provide remote medical care. Huawei believes that this service will help increase the number of patients and increase the level of services provided not only in Moscow or other large cities of Russia, but also abroad.

Huawei's vice chairman also shared a vision for accelerating the deployment of 5G networks in Eurasia. He noted that at this stage it is important to give operators the opportunity to use a wider range of frequencies, and in this matter industry players need the support of national governments. Operators need help creating an infrastructure to accommodate equipment - the cost of renting sites can exceed half the cost of the entire network deployment project. As a solution to this problem, the government may consider using state-owned objects to install equipment on them. This will greatly speed up the process of deploying networks. Industry participants need to join forces to build a 5G ecosystem, Mr. Hu said.

The expert also stressed the importance of training qualified professionals and supporting 5G innovation. As an example, he cited the 5G curriculum for customers, partners and students, which started in 2019. The objective of the program is to train 10,000 specialists over the next 5 years, and the company's investments in this project will amount to more than 50 million rubles. According to him, in Russia, in 2019, 1,500 people took part in the program.

Huawei claimed in August 2019 that the company did not plan to move from Krylatskiye Kholm.

Huawei was looking for space to open an office in addition to Krylatskiye Kholm, said Vera Zimenkova, regional director of the office real estate department at Colliers International. According to her, Krylatskie Hills had an extremely low vacancy rate by August 2019, so the company had to look for another office due to the expansion of staff.

Renting offices at Smolensky Passage-2 has become one of the few examples when foreign IT companies conclude large transactions in the Russian real estate market. In 2019, such companies, on the contrary, are reducing their presence, said Vladimir Rybakov, director of the Accent Capital office real estate department.[16]

Huawei is closing six offices in the regions of Russia (in the North-West, Far Eastern, South, Siberian, Ural and Volga federal districts).

Regional offices remain, their structure and functional composition of employees are changing. The creation of the Eurasian region due to the accession to Russia of 10 divisions operating in neighboring countries requires a concentration of managerial competencies and resources in the head office, in connection with which the management structure of regional offices will undergo certain changes. However, the main staff will continue to work, and this will not affect operational processes and interaction with customers, the company's press service said. 2018

Revenue growth by 2 times to 132.3 billion rubles

In 2018, the Russian division of Huawei (Tekhkompany Huawei LLC) registered a record revenue of 132.3 billion rubles. In 2017, it was measured at 61.7 billion rubles. The company's net profit during this time jumped 2.4 times and reached 3.35 billion rubles.

According to a source RBC close to Huawei, the company's revenues increased due to the growth in sales of mobile devices. The company's share in the Russian market smartphones grew from 11% in 2017 to 20% a year later in physical terms, which allowed Huawei to get ahead Apple and take second place in unit sales of pipes. The Chinese vendor lost only (Samsung data). IDC

Huawei doubled revenue in Russia thanks to smartphones

An interlocutor of RBC in a large Russian retailer says that for the whole of 2018, about 7.5 million smartphones under the brands Huawei and Honor (also owned by Huawei) were sold in Russia. The average cost of the device was 13.4 thousand rubles. Based on this, the company could sell devices worth 100 billion rubles.

According to the source of the publication, retailers purchase all gadgets, including wearable devices, Huawei and Honor brands from Tech Company Huawei LLC. Thus, the sale of consumer devices could give Huawei more than 75% of revenue in Russia.

M.Video-Eldorado The statement says that every fourth smartphone purchased in Russia in 2018 is released under the Huawei or Honor brand). At the retailer itself, sales of Huawei and Honor devices quadrupled due to a widely presented line, joint shares and convenient credit tools, a network representative told RBC, without naming the amount of revenue.

The revenue of all Huawei in 2018 reached $105.19 billion, or about 6.6 trillion rubles. Thus, the Russian business accounted for about 2% of the corporation's turnover. In financial statements, Huawei does not disclose revenues in certain countries.[19]

Huawei will open two additional data centers in Russia

At the beginning of 2019, Huawei will have two additional data centers in Russia, which will be based in Moscow. As of November 2018, the company already has one site in the capital of our country - for about 100 server racks; it opened in April 2018. Both data centers should be launched in March 2019. The first of them will house about 300 racks, the starting capacities of the second have not yet been determined. At the same time, both of these sites are designed for 1000 racks each. Arthur Pärn, Director of Solutions for Huawei Cloud in Russia, spoke about this.

Huawei's partner in this project is a domestic operator. data centers 3data This organization provides the Chinese the company with physical sites, and Huawei brings its own to them servers and ports its services to them, which customers can use according to the cloudy model.

The partners call the exact structure of Huawei's relationship with 3data a trade secret. However, customers in our country only interact directly with 3data. The operator sells and promotes services, provides the so-called first and second line of technical support, takes over all transaction processing issues, and also independently licenses the data center equipment and receives the necessary permits from local regulators.

File:Aquote1.png
We have a parent cloud in China in which all services are launched initially. It has about 110 services of various categories as of November 2018: IaaS, SaaS, PaaS. In each country, we choose our own model of work - through someone or on our own. In Russia, our cloud has been launched together with 3data, and the branding is joint.
File:Aquote2.png

According to Arthur Pärn, Russia became the first region outside China in which the name of Huawei is present in the partner public cloud, and not just a partner - Huawei 3data Cloud. In other countries, customers may not know at all that the services they need are provided from the Huawei library on the hardware of this company. As the general director of 3data Ilya Hala explains, in Russia it was decided to use the name Huawei, because this brand is well known in our country.

Huawei has no plans to work in Russia without intermediaries. And now, if the customer somehow comes to it directly, Huawei transfers it to 3data. The contract will be signed by the data center operator.

Despite the fact that Huawei services already exist in China in a ready-made form, the deployment of each of them in any country requires quite a lot of effort - allocating racks, solving the tasks of porting and localization, spending on energy costs, etc. In addition, as Arthur Pärn says, organizations in Russia are just coming to understand the effectiveness of using certain cloud services - companies do not yet have enough expertise to work with them.

Ilya Hala also confirms the unwillingness of Russian organizations to use the full range of Huawei resources.

File:Aquote1.png
When we started the project, we asked our Chinese colleagues not to launch all services in Russia at once. If you dump one hundred services at the same time, then we will confuse everyone, no one will figure it out. People will not understand why all this. Therefore, we agreed to move consistently, and we have a roadmap. First, we deployed about 20 services. It takes several weeks to port any service. We have a clear release schedule. Depending on the interest of customers, we select services and put them in our next release.
File:Aquote2.png

At the same time, according to the general director 3data, most likely not all services will be ported in Russia as a result, because each regional market has its own characteristics.

Note that 3data positions itself as a network of premium data centers, which in Russia has implemented the concept of "data center walking distance." As Hala explains, light within known limits does not care what distance to travel along the fiber. But the length of the route at the same time affects the cost of data transmission very significantly.

According to the general director 3data, for most of his clients, the average route from their offices to the nearest data center of the company costs several thousand rubles a month. To conditional traditional data centers (on the outskirts of the city or in the Moscow region), the communication channel, according to him, will cost several tens of thousands of rubles.

The second important argument in favor of the deployment of data centers near potential customers is related to aspects of the psychology of Russian clients, for which, oddly enough, the physical availability of Huawei's[20] is important].

The company's potential interest in venture capital investment in Tatarstan IT projects and solutions is also pleasing, - said Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Informatization and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan.
File:Aquote2.png

At the same time, the document addresses a whole range of goals and tasks that contribute to the exchange of experience in such priority areas as research in the development of modern technologies, the involvement of scientific personnel and startups of the Republic of Tatarstan in joint research work.

In general, the signing of the memorandum was a continuation of cooperation between the parties, which began at the end of January 2018 with the conclusion of an agreement between Huawei and the Government of Tatarstan on cooperation in the field of ICT implementation in various sectors of the region's economy. At the same time, the event confirms the desire of the parties to develop and deepen mutually beneficial work and promote the implementation of joint scientific and educational initiatives in the field of ICT.

Huawei's direct contracts with Russian state-owned companies have grown more than 2 times

In 2016, the volume of contracts directly concluded by Huawei (Technical Company Huawei LLC) with Russian state-owned companies increased by more than 2 times. According to TAdviser estimates, in 2015, state-owned enterprises spent about 3 billion rubles on solutions and services of the Chinese company, and in 2016 about 7 billion rubles. At the same time, the number of such agreements increased by only 20%.

Huawei in Russia in 2016 concluded government contracts for almost 7 billion rubles

The largest domestic consumer of Huawei products among state-owned companies can be called Rostelecom. In 2015, the total cost of agreements between the Russian operator and the Chinese manufacturer amounted to about 2 billion rubles. In 2016, this amount grew 2 times, to 4 billion rubles.

Other major partners of Huawei in Russia are Sberbank and MGTS. The largest Russian bank in 2016 spent about 2.5 billion rubles on Huawei solutions and services. MGTS "distinguished itself" in this regard in 2015, concluding contracts for about 850 million rubles.

At the end of 2015, Rostelecom and MGTS contracts accounted for about 90% of all Russian state contracts of Huawei in monetary terms. In 2016, the contracts of the two largest domestic partners of the Chinese company - Rostelecom and Sberbank, accounted for about 93% of all state agreements of the Chinese company in Russia.

If you look at purchases separately, then in 2015 the largest contract was the supply of GPON and ADSL routers to Rostelecom in the amount of about 780 million rubles ($14.5 million). In second and third place is a contract with MGTS for 430 million rubles and another contract with Rostelecom for 425 million rubles. In both cases, we are talking about the supply of subscriber GPON terminals.

In 2016, Huawei's largest agreement was a contract with Rostelecom for services for post-warranty maintenance of equipment and software in the amount of about 1.6 billion rubles. In second place is again the agreement with Rostelecom, but already for the supply of subscriber broadband access equipment (about 1 billion rubles or $16.7 million). The third largest contract in 2016 was an agreement with Sberbank for the supply of network equipment with a total value of 944 million rubles.

Huawei goes to Gazprom with Russian-assembled products

Gazprom avtomatizatsiya, Gazprom's main integrator, will gradually localize the production of Huawei uninterruptible power supplies ( UPS ) at its site in Kaliningrad, the company told TAdviser in December 2015. Locally produced Huawei UPSs, as well as Gazprom avtomatizatsiya 's own energy equipment, are planned to be used by Gazprom as part of import substitution.

"In the near foreseeable future, the energy equipment of our production will replace similar imported equipment at Gazprom's facilities," Gazprom Automation told TAdviser. - Kaliningrad enterprises "Gazprom avtomatizatsiya" are one of the largest suppliers of energy equipment in the gas market. The experience gained makes it possible to localize UPS production at the lowest cost and in the shortest possible time. "

According to company representatives, in the future it is planned to expand the range of Huawei products produced at the facilities of Gazprom avtomatizatsiya. The agreements with the Chinese company also provide for the expansion of the use of its equipment in Gazprom avtomatizatsiya projects in the field of power and automation.

Гендиректор «Газпром автоматизации» Dmitry Zhuravlev (in the photo on the right) at the V St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, where an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation with Huawei was signed

The partnership with Huawei "Gazprom avtomatizatsiya" established within the framework of the program of import substitution and development of new types of products for fuel and energy complex enterprises implemented by the company.

"Given the modern geopolitical realities and calls of the Russian government to reduce the dependence of Russian manufacturers on suppliers from countries that have announced sanctions against the Russian Federation, we, of course, are actively working on the implementation of the import substitution program. Huawei solutions and equipment do not yet occupy a large share in our production, but it is planned to expand the range of equipment used, "say Gazprom avtomatizatsiya.

The annual report of Gazprom avtomatizatsiya for 2014 indicated that in 2015 it is planned to carry out joint measures to study the issues of localizing the production of Huawei equipment on the basis of the company's subsidiaries. " In the fall of 2014, Gazprom avtomatizatsiya received[21], an authorized partner of Huawei Enterprise Business Group (a division of Huawei focused on the corporate market segment). Then, among other things, the parties agreed to jointly participate in the implementation of projects in the field of creating technological communication systems and regional data transmission networks for Gazprom's subsidiaries. The possibilities of organizing the production of communication equipment were also discussed.

In the fall of 2015, Gazprom avtomatizatsiya and Huawei Enterprise Business Group signed an agreement[22] on scientific and technical cooperation. It covers activities in such areas as equipment and software used in the construction of computer complexes and data transmission networks, in the construction of primary communication networks, equipment and software of audio and video conferencing systems, information protection systems . Cooperation also involves the organization of joint solutions with Gazprom avtomatizatsiya and, if necessary, the adaptation of Huawei software to the technological needs of the company.

Gazprom avtomatizatsiya told TAdviser that in addition to energy equipment, their import substitution program covers linear telemechanics systems, autonomous power supplies, packaged electrochemical protection devices, fire protection system controllers, ultrasonic flowmeters, etc. The company says that all products are in demand on the market of Gazprom Group companies.

The agreement enshrines the mutual interest of USC and Huawei in the field of scientific and technical cooperation. The document defines the principles and conditions necessary for negotiations and joint development of high-tech information and communication solutions that are potentially of mutual interest.

2014

Huawei server and DSS sales in Russia soared 387%

At the end of 2014, Huawei's network equipment business in Russia grew by 184%, and by servers and DSS - by 387%, said Jason Cao, head of the Huawei Enterprise Business Group in Russia, in March 2015. Business indicators were estimated in dollar terms, the company said.

The company noted that Huawei is moving away from perception in the market as a predominantly telecom vendor and is moving towards the position of a provider of integrated IT infrastructure. Huawei partly explains such high sales growth rates for IT solutions by the fact that it began to actively develop this very direction in Russia not so long ago: 3-4 years ago. In addition to network and IT equipment, the corporate unit also includes the direction of unified communications solutions and solutions for deploying communication networks.

Another reason for the high growth rates of corporate business in 2014 in Huawei is called increased work with the partner network. At the end of 2014, the number of partners in this area at Huawei exceeded 200 companies. The volume of business by key partners grew by 250%. The company notes that "an increasing number of market leaders are choosing Huawei as a strategic provider of ICT solutions."

Huawei began to actively develop the direction of IT solutions in Russia 3-4 years ago

The growth in sales was also influenced by the exchange rate on import substitution, which became especially relevant in Russia in 2014 due to Western sanctions. Maria Lobanova, director of the Huawei Enterprise Russia partner department, told TAdviser that this has become one of the factors that favor growth.

Lobanova found it difficult to estimate how many percent of the growth was brought by this particular aspect, but noted in a conversation with TAdviser that there are quite a few projects in which customers switch from American equipment to Huawei equipment. This mainly applies to government organizations, because in the commercial sector, customers are more free to choose a supplier, she said.

According to Lobanova, as of March 2015, the company already has about 200 different projects in the corporate direction in various stages of development. The names of large new customers in the company chose not to disclose prematurely.

By 2015, the largest Huawei customers in Russia were Sberbank, with which a strategic cooperation agreement was signed in October 2014 , VTB ( an agreement in November 2014 ), and Russian Railways (May 2014). As of early 2015, Huawei is cooperating with 23 federal and 10 regional authorities in Russia, according to Jason Cao.

As of 2014, the company has three distributors of corporate solutions in Russia : Landata, Merlion and Treolan. The first of them, in particular, in February reported more than twice the growth in sales of Huawei corporate solutions and a 20 percent increase in the number of partners who regularly buy this type of product from it.

Speaking about plans for the development of corporate business in Russia in 2015, the company notes that a significant emphasis will be placed on the further development of the partner network, including in the regions. According to Huawei's plans, over the year the number of its local partners in this area should exceed 400 companies, and in 2016 - 600 companies.

Jason Cao told TAdviser that by the end of 2015, the company expects at least 100% business growth in DSS and server and at least 100% in network equipment. In a conversation with a portal representative, he noted that in fact the growth may be much higher, but due to the fact that the growth of 2014 was largely due to the novelty of the corporate direction as such, the company admits lower indicators for its growth in the next year.

According to Jason Cao, in 2015, Huawei's strategic marketing budget for the development of corporate business in Russia is $8.5 million. The global budget for these purposes is about $50 million. Huawei notes that a significant part of this amount is allocated to Russia, since it is one of the strategic markets for the company. Of the funds allocated to Russia, approximately 50% will be directed to direct work with partners and joint events. About 30% will be directed to expanding the staff of the Huawei Enterprise division, and 20% will be expenses for other needs.

Agreements with a number of large companies

In May 2014, President Vladimir Putin visited China. Following this visit, Russia and China made a joint statement that the countries will increase the effectiveness of cooperation in high-tech sectors and deepen ties in the field of science and technology.

Soon after, Huawei and Russian Railways signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation . The cooperation of the companies involves the joint implementation of such projects as the development and modernization of wireless networks of professional technological communication of the GSM-R standard, broadband radio communication of the LTE standard (eLTE, LTE-R), audio and video conferencing systems, including high definition, for the needs of Russian Railways.

It is also envisaged that companies will interact in the development, development and modernization of computer systems, data transmission networks for the technological needs of Russian Railways, primary communication networks of Russian Railways using spectral channel multiplexing technology and IP technology.

A cooperation agreement was also signed between Huawei and Rostelecom. Representatives of the operator then noted that the agreement would help him "to quickly build high-speed fiber-optic communication networks in order to provide the company's users with an unlimited range of modern services and multimedia content anywhere in the country."

In September 2014, a cooperation agreement with Huawei was concluded by the state-owned company Avtodor. The parties noted the desire to initiate cooperation in the field of supply and implementation of modern solutions, systems and equipment for the purpose of information and communication support of the company's roads. In addition, it is planned to cooperate in the implementation of projects that ensure the creation of a unified integrated traffic management system and toll collection on Avtodor roads, as well as information exchange in order to summarize world and Russian experience, mutually beneficial technology transfer and increase the efficiency of innovation activities.

In October 2014, a cooperation agreement was also signed with Sberbank. It establishes direct relations between Sberbank and Huawei and allows Sberbank to buy equipment from the vendor directly. In addition, the bank will act as a financial partner of the vendor in promoting his products on the market of the Russian Federation and the CIS.

"Until recently, Sberbank used high-tech equipment mainly from American and European companies," German Gref commented on the agreement . - We continue and develop cooperation with them, while paying attention to alternative manufacturers and alternative supply channels. The conclusion of this agreement will allow Sberbank to receive high-quality equipment at the best price. "

Launch in Russia of sales of phones under its own brand

In 2011, it became known that Huawei was launching phones under its[23] brand name in Russian retail[23]. She used to sell tubes here only through operators and under their brands.

Until 2011, Huawei partners Russia in the direction of phones were exclusively operators -, MTS"," VimpelCom"," Megaphone"." Sky link Huawei decided to sell phones under its brand, inspired by the rapid growth in sales, smartphones says Alexei Gromakov, marketing director of its Russian office. Negotiations are underway, in particular, with "" and Euroset"Svyaznoy."

President of Euroset Alexander Malis and representative of Svyaznoy Elena Nogotkova confirmed this, adding that there are no agreements yet. Nevertheless, Huawei expects to enter the top five smartphone suppliers to Russia by the end of 2011, and in three years - to take 3rd place, says Gromakov, citing successful sales of "operator" tubes. He does not name the numbers. Third place in sales of Huawei smartphones shines hardly, Malis doubts.

In 2010, Huawei imported about 80,000 smartphones to Russia for operators, and this year it will sell about 100,000 through them and the same number through independent retail, estimates Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group.

Megafon offers a number of Huawei devices under its brand: smartphones running Android, budget 3G phones, routers, photo frames, says the operator's representative Karen Asoyan. It has sold more than 100,000 such devices in the past year. MTS spokeswoman Valeria Kuzmenko named only the share of Huawei phones in the mono-brand line of this operator - 20%.

Production of equipment at Angstrom

On June 8, 2011, Angstrom and Huawei announced the signing of a cooperation agreement and the start of a joint project for the production of telecommunications equipment in Zelenograd near Moscow. The agreement signed by Wang Kexiang, General Director of Technical Company Huawei LLC, and Alexei Tabolkin, President of NGO Angstrom, provides for the development of mutually beneficial scientific and technical cooperation in the field of microelectronics, the creation of joint production of electronic equipment and telecommunication equipment intended, among other things, for building LTE networks, as well as the sale of finished products to telecom operators and corporate clients in the Russian Federation.

As part of the agreement, Angstrom will produce equipment under the Huawei brand on its own production base that meets modern world standards. In addition to contract production, as part of the exchange of technological potential, companies will jointly develop solutions in the field of telecommunications and communications.

At the first stage of the technological partnership, Angstrom will produce the following Huawei equipment:

  • LTE base stations,
  • DWDM equipment (OSN6800 and OSN1800),
  • access equipment (MA5600T and МА5603Т),
  • IP-switch (S2300 и S3300 + S5300),
  • RRL equipment (RTN series),
  • operator routers (NE40/NE80/NEx series).

The production, the design capacity of which is up to 10,000 products per year, will be commissioned in the IV quarter of 2011. As part of the project, Angstrom plans to invest about 400 million rubles in production in 2011 alone, and by 2013 it will open additional production facilities in a special economic zone in Zelenograd.

For its part, Huawei will provide unique developments and technologies, train Angstrom specialists and install a product quality control system. This will allow the company to expand its presence in the Russian market through new distribution opportunities for its products, fulfilling the licensing requirements of key customers, as well as making the logistics of its supplies more efficient. Huawei traditionally tries to make the maximum contribution to the development of the economy in the countries of presence, and also pays great attention to the high-quality localization of its solutions.

Wang Kexiang, General Director of Technical Company Huawei LLC, noted: "Russia is a priority region for Huawei. A joint project with Angstrom will launch the largest production of Huawei solutions in the Russian Federation. This will allow the company to expand its range through localization of solutions, gain new distribution opportunities and strengthen its competitive advantage in the Russian market. "
"The partnership with Huawei is a unique opportunity for Angstrom to develop its own competence in the production of communication equipment. In the process of complicating localization, we plan to gradually change imported microelectronics to Russian in the assembled equipment. And let's start with the integration of a single-chip microprocessor with a navigation function/developed GLONASSGPS at Angstrom into Huawei equipment, "said Alexei Tabolkin, President of Angstrom NGO.
