History

2020: Stop shipping Intel processors

In early July 2020, it became known about the termination of the supply of Intel processors to Inspur. This happened after the US authorities tightened export restrictions.

Since June 29  , two new rules of the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the US Department of Commerce have entered into force, which further limit the potential export of sensitive technologies to Russia, China and Venezuela. As a result, a list of 20 companies was compiled (among them Inspur), which, according to the authorities, have close ties with the military, and therefore limited purchases of American technology.

US authorities left Inspur servers without Intel processors

Intel must comply with these requirements and suspend cooperation with Inspur. This can hurt the business of a Chinese company, given that Intel is its largest supplier. In 2019, Inspur purchased components worth 17.89 billion yuan ($2.53 billion) from an American manufacturer, according to China Daily, citing Inspur's financial statements.

Intel and Inspur themselves hope to resume cooperation soon. If companies do this quickly, then the Chinese company will not be undermined, given that, like many other server manufacturers, it purchases components for the future in order to be prepared for supply disruptions and other unforeseen situations.

Inspur was supposed to stock up on components, given the demand for cloud services during the period of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, said Xiang Ligang, head of the Information Consumption Alliance, which protects the interests of participants in the telecommunications industry.

Bai Ming, a senior researcher at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, notes that the US government is using all means to undermine normal business cooperation at the international level.[1]

2010-2014

2010 - Inspur proposed the idea of an industry cloud and promoted China's first autonomous cloud management system.

2013 - Inspur released an advanced powerful Tianso K1 server, positioned as a full replacement for foreign counterparts in the financial, telecommunications, state, energy and other sectors. After the Chinese government called for banks replacing servers IBM the Chinese manufacturers used by them with servers, Inspur began to actively supply Tianso K1 to financial organizations.

2014 - IBM and Chinese Inspur entered into a partnership agreement under which the American company will help the Chinese side design servers based on its Power processor, and Inspur will offer IBM software products - DB2 DBMS and the WebSphere Application Server system on its own K1 servers.

2005-2009

2005 - 64-bit Inspur server received a state award for technological progress.

2007 - Inspur created a state laboratory of highly efficient servers and storage.

2009 - As part of China's 863 state program to support technology development to ensure independence from foreign suppliers, Inspur has developed a high-performance, fault-tolerant Tianso server. In addition to him, the company completed a number of other developments as part of the program.

1990 - Inspur produced the world's first pager in Chinese and developed the world's first standard for paging Chinese characters, which is still preserved.

1993 - Inspur technicians in Singapore developed the first small Chinese server. Over the next ten years, Inspur has overcome the long-standing monopoly of foreign server manufacturers in China. Since 1996, the Inspur server has become the No. 1 brand among domestic servers.
