Interros allocates $1 billion for high-tech projects

According to him, in order to strengthen its presence in the high-tech market, Interros will additionally allocate $1 billion for investments in this area.

The funds will be used to develop digital projects and support promising high-tech startups, which, as they develop, will need more and more funding.

According to the press service of Interros, the company is actively developing its digital agenda. The company took an active part in the development of the law on digital financial assets, acted as a co-investor in several global digital platforms. The most famous of them is Atomyze, which by December 2021 is at various stages of preparation for work in Russia, Switzerland and the United States, noted in Interros.

In addition, the company supported the creation of the Center for the Study of Brain and Consciousness in Skolkovo, part of which was the Laboratory of Programmable Materials Physics of Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov.

Everything related to the digital economy, cloud technologies and their maintenance, blockchain technologies seem to be interesting areas in business, said Vladimir Potanin, president of Norilsk Nickel, founder and president of Interros management company, in an interview with Vedomosti^[2]

I believe that blockchain technologies are Klondike, because an infinite number of processes can be improved in this way. I recently began to think about this topic, but even I understand that, for example, the process of registering real estate or the process of storing medical records, notarial records thanks to this technology could become absolutely safe and reliable, - said Potanin.

At the same time, the president of Norilsk Nickel is confident that the state will be cautious about the process: there is always a fear of distraction from paper and turning everything into electronic form. The same applies to both management and production processes in any company, he believes.

Try to imagine that all processes are equipped with sensors that provide information to the central system in automatic mode. This is a deserted production, and a step towards robotization, and a serious decentralization of processes. And we - not Norilsk Nickel, but Interros, which has recently been orphaned - will deal with projects related to digitalization, with blockchain, - said Vladimir Potanin. - To gain experience in this area, we made small investments in the USA, watched how data centers work.

Potanin added that a certain experience has been accumulated over 10 years, and now he is waiting for a period when this can be effectively applied in Russia.
