The total length of power lines reaches 90 thousand km. The area served is 83.8 thousand square meters. km, the population - more than 5.5 million people.

The main task of the company is to ensure reliable and stable energy supply to all consumers of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea, as well as the growing needs of the regional economy for electricity. Kubanenergo is the largest taxpayer of the region. The company's participation in the socio-economic life of the region is not limited only to tax deductions, it is carried out through the provision of employment for enterprises of related industries. So, about 80% of the contracted work for power engineers is carried out by Kuban enterprises.

History

The first electric power facilities in the Kuban appeared at the end of the 19th century. For lighting purposes, in 1890, the first electrical installation appeared at the mill of the merchant Volochaev in the village of Fedorovsky. And three years later, in Novorossiysk, on an elevator, to mechanize the loading of grain on transport, the first three-phase current power station in Russia with a capacity of 1200 kW was launched.

The history of the electrification of the Kuban dates back to the 1920s, when the decision of the executive committee of the Kuban district, inspired by the ideas of the famous GOELRO plan, developed and approved a plan for the electrification of the Kuban for 15 years. According to the plan, by 1940 it was planned to build a district thermal power station with a capacity of about 22,000 kW, five group and 19 local stations, 300 km of 110 kV transmission lines and six lowering substations, as well as 6570 km of low-voltage lines.

The Great Patriotic War was a difficult test for the Kuban energy system. For several months of occupation, the Germans destroyed 21 power station buildings to the ground, removed 18 steam boilers, 21 steam turbines, 59 locomotives, 136 diesel engines, more than 1000 electric motors, 7 steam engines. But, despite such heavy losses, immediately after the liberation of the region from the invaders, even before the end of the war, the region's power plants already gave electricity to factories and factories.

In order to restore the destroyed energy economy of the Kuban and its further development, by order of the People's Commissar of Power Plants of the USSR dated March 14, 1944 No. 66, the Krasnodar District Energy Department "Krasnodar Energy" (REU) was organized. The main activities of REU were the production, distribution and sale of electric and thermal energy, the restoration and development of the energy system, control of energy consumption and supervision of the operation of power plants of Kuban enterprises. The REU was run as independent self-accounting enterprises by power plants, substations, network areas, power plants, a mechanical repair plant, a central warehouse, a design and survey bureau, and a production and research laboratory.

By 1959, the installed capacity of the entire Kuban power system amounted to 337 MW (excluding diesel plants and block stations).

In the late 50s and early 60s, 110 and 220 kV main transmission lines were built in the Kuban, necessary for communication with the power systems of southern Russia and Transcaucasia, the railway network of the region was electrified, distribution electric grid facilities were built, electrification of rural settlements reached 86%.

In 1963, in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR from 14.05.1963, enterprises of urban and rural electric networks of the Kuban were transferred to the REU from Kraikomkhoz.

The rapid increase in electricity consumption by the Kuban national economy in 1970-1980 led to the construction of a large number of power transmission lines and substations, the transition to higher voltage classes - 330 and 500 kV. The total length of all voltage transmission lines was about 90 thousand km, the number of substations 35-500 kV exceeded 700.

On November 1, 1988, in accordance with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated 02.07.1987 No. 812, the Krasnodar District Energy Department of Krasnodar was abolished, and the Krasnodar Production Association of Energy and Electrification Krasnodar was created on the basis of enterprises and organizations subordinate to it (POIE Krasnodar Energy).

In 1993, in accordance with the legislation of Russia on the privatization of state and municipal enterprises, the Krasnodarenergo POE was transformed into Kubanenergo OJSC, which, in addition to electric grid enterprises, included the Krasnodar CHPP, Energonadzor, repair and construction enterprises, a training plant, a recreation boarding house, and a pioneer camp. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 15.08.1992 No. 923 "On the Organization of the Management of the Electric Power Complex of the Russian Federation under Privatization," 49% of the Company's shares were transferred to the authorized capital of RAO UES of Russia in 1993, and the remaining 51% of the shares of Kubanenergo OJSC were acquired by a closed subscription by members of the Company's labor collective and other persons, entitled to benefits under the State Privatization Programme.

In 2006, as a result of the reorganization of Kubanenergo OJSC, open joint-stock companies stood out from it:

  • Kuban Generating Company, whose authorized capital included the Company's generating capacities (Krasnodar CHP and small hydroelectric power plants);
  • "Kuban backbone networks," the authorized capital of which is formed by electric grid facilities belonging to the Unified National Electric Network (voltage 220 kV and above);
  • Kuban Energy Distribution Company with the functions of a guaranteeing supplier of electricity, as well as the purchase of electricity in the wholesale market and its supply to end customers.

From 14.09.2007 to 01.12.2010, in accordance with the decision of the extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (minutes No. 21 of 31.08.2007), the functions of the sole executive body of the Company (General Director) were carried out by IDGC of the South OJSC.
