2020: Completion of the transaction with Kioxia selling Solid State Storage Technology Corporation

On July 1, 2020 it became known that KIOXIA Holdings Corporation, the company in the field of solutions for memory, closed the deal on acquisition of Solid State Storage Technology Corporation — the business on production of solid state drives (SSD) belonging to Liteon-ONCorporation, and also its subsidiary companies. With respect thereto acquisition signed on August 30, 2019 the sale and purchase agreement of actions. 2019: Sale of SSD business of Toshiba Memory company of $165 million

At the beginning of September, 2019 it became known of purchase of business on release of solid state drives of Liteon of Toshiba Memory company. The transaction worth $165 million is going to be closed by April, 2020.

Under the terms of the agreement, Liteon will transfer Toshiba Memory all assets connected about SSD, including product inventories, a production equipment, intellectual property, technologies and personnel. The perimeter of the transaction did not include together with Tsinghua Unigroup the enterprise for release of solid state drives.

Toshiba Memory purchased SSD business Liteon for $165 million

The technical director of Toshiba Memory Nobuo Hayasaka said that purchase of SSD business of Liteon organically fits into activity of the company and will allow it to meet demand for solid-state devices for computers and data centers.

In assortment of Liteon SSD solutions which are applied in the server systems, industrial equipment and client devices are submitted. Under what brand they will be issued after business transition under the aegis of Toshiba Memory, is not specified. Toshiba Memory since October 1, 2019 will be called Kioxia.^[1]
