MTM Robotics

MTM Robotics (the former name — Mobile Tool Management) — the American developer company of robotic and software packages for the aerospace industry. The company was founded in the State of Washington in 2003 and totals 40 employees (by December, 2019).

History

2019: Airbus purchased MTM Robotics

In the middle of December, 2019 the French producer of the space Airbus equipment purchased MTM Robotics for the unknown amount. The robotic firm cooperates with Airbus more than ten years therefore many automated systems of MTM Robotics are used on production sites of Airbus therefore problems with integration should not arise.

After the conclusion of the transaction the management of MTM Robotics will remain on the places, and the main production site of the company in Mukilteo, the State of Washington, will continue to work in the normal mode.

Airbus purchased the developer of robots for industrial automation of airplanes

The software of automated design is widely used in different formats in manufacturing industry. Software of MTM Robotics can be integrated with solutions CAD. One of main products of MTM Robotics is Serenity Software Suite — a set of program services which allows the enterprises to digitize and use plans on the basis of production resources. Serenity gives to users complete idea of all functions included in the automated production environment. All production files are completely controlled by Serenity and stored in its databases.

The CEO of Airbus Michael Schoellhorn noted that "the competitiveness of tomorrow will be defined not only by the best projects of airplanes, but also parallel creation of the most effective production system". Automation and attraction of robotics on the production site — one of steps in this direction.^[1]
