MTX Connectthe virtual mobile operator (MVNO) founded by natives of Russia — engineers Ilya Balashov, Mikhail Kornev and Artem Kirillov. The company offers clients connection to the mobile Internet more than in 100 countries of the world (for December, 2019). The headquarters of the company is located in Luxembourg, offices — in Tallinn, Kiev, Limassol, Moscow and Hong Kong.

History

2019: Cooperation with Apple on eSIM

On December 19, 2019 it became known of the beginning of cooperation of MTX Connect with Apple on eSIM technology. This is already the second partner of the American corporation with the Russian roots in this sector after Truphone which sells virtual sim cards to which using a special application it is possible to tie several foreign phone numbers that allows to use local rates at travel.

As the representative of MTX Connect told RBC, emergence of the company in the list of Apple of partners in eSIM will save users from need to manually perform tunings of mobile connection when installing a sim card or loading of the eSIM-operator. Parameters of network of the company will be automatically set. Integration of mobile application will allow to be connected to network of the operator of all in a minute. At the same time conditions of cooperation of MTX Connect and Apple do not reveal.

By December 19, 2019 in Russia use of eSIM formally is not authorized. Legalization is opposed by the mobile operators, largest in the country, and FSB.[1]
