History

2015: ER-Telecom is going to purchase the Irkutsk operator "Megapolis Telecom"

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia in October, 2015 permitted ER-Telecom company to acquire 100% of shares of the Irkutsk telecom operator Megapolis Telecom.

2012

During the first quarter 2012 Megapolis Telecom Ltd held testing of the equipment of the leading telecommunication companies on own communication network. Based on testing during which operational indicators of the equipment of the Russian and foreign producers were estimated the technical department of the company recognized switches of aggregation of traffic QTECH QSW-8300-28F the most suitable under problems of deployment of a communication network. This model of the switch is characterized by higher flexibility and reliability, thanks to a universal configuration of ports and support of the majority of modern protocols and also compliance to security requirements.

In April, 2012 the Megapolis Telecom company and the Russian producer of telecommunication equipment QTECH company signed the agreement on delivery of switches of aggregation within the project on connection of new districts of Irkutsk to network of high-speed Internet access. According to plans of the operator, the subscriber base in a private and corporate segment this year will increase by 10,000 clients, and will make more than 21,000 subscribers.

Engineers of Megapolis Telecom and QTECH companies in the shortest possible time performed integration of the QSW-8300-28F switches into the operating network of the operator that allowed to bring a new segment into operation in the middle of May, 2012.
