Megapolisresource

Company

The Megapolisresource company was founded in 2004 by Vladimir Matsyuk for the organization of collecting and waste recycling of industrial production. Specialization of the company - processing of the batteries, electronics and waste containing precious metals.

Processing of photowaste (film and solutions) with which original technology of utilization the company reached the final of international contest of Green I.T became starting activity of the company. Awards-2013 in the Recycling Project of the Year nomination ("the Retsiklingovy project of year"). The company also processes electronic scrap and waste of the jewelry industry.

2017: Federal program of collecting and utilization of Duracell and Megapolisresource batteries

On December 5, 2017 the producer of Duracell batteries and the Megapolisresource plant signed the agreement on implementation of a joint federal initiative of collecting and utilization of batteries. The document was signed at a ceremony of start of the upgraded line of processing at the Megapolisresource plant in Chelyabinsk with participation of the chief of the department of Federal Nature Management Supervision Service (Rosprirodnadzor) across Chelyabinsk region.

Processing (recuperation of valuable raw materials for repeated production or creation of new products) is the most eco-friendly method of utilization of batteries in comparison with burning. The only working plant on processing of batteries in Russia Megapolisresource and Duracell company combine the efforts for creation of federal network of collecting and acceptance of the used batteries.

Within the Duracell project will attract retail networks in which in the large cities of Russia collection points for the used batteries will be organized to partnership, and Megapolisresource will provide their collecting, transportation of waste through own service "Boksi" and safe processing. The project will be accompanied by the large-scale information campaign "Hand Over Batteries with Duracell" which will tell consumers about ecological advantages of processing in comparison with other methods of utilization, will contribute to the development of ecological culture in the country and to stimulate to hand over batteries in processing.

Vladimir Matsyuk, the CEO of the Megapolisresource plant, added: "When we opened the line of processing of batteries at our plant in 2013, put in the project ambitious capacities – to 10,000 tons of raw materials a year, a half of annual sales volume of batteries in Russia. In reality volumes of collecting were 25 times less, and all collected in Russia in a year we overworked in 4 days. Today we start certain, more flexible and scalable line of processing of batteries and a priority task we see development of federal infrastructure in collecting through our Boksi service which will provide stable loading of capacities. We are glad to partnership with Duracell, world leading manufacturer of batteries, in implementation of an important task – to make delivery of batteries a daily habit for millions of Russians".

The processed battery is a valuable source of secondary resources, such as zinc, manganese, graphite and iron which are used by production of different objects, from pencils to rails. Responsible handling of consumers of the used batteries – a basis of ecological wellbeing and saving of resources. For this reason the Duracell and Megapolisresource joint project aimed at the development of a system of processing of batteries in the country is strategically important nature protection initiative.
