Mint Capital is the Scandinavian private equity fund which was founded in 2000 for investment into capital stock of the companies in Russia and the CIS countries.

Strategy — investments into the fast-growing profitable companies with an annual turnover in the range from 10 to 100 million US dollars. Activity of fund is concentrated on investment of the business which is in an expansion stage.

Mint Capital aims to purchase considerable minority (as a rule, it is higher than 20%) or a controlling stake. The amount of investments can be several tens of millions of dollars for the entire period.

The fund tries to avoid the risk connected with investment of starting projects and the companies with an essential share of the state participation, however investors have flexible approach within the investment focus.

History

2005: Start of Mint II fund for $130 million

The second Mint II fund was created in 2005 and amounted already 130 million dollars, from it investment is conducted now.

2000: Foundation of Mint I fund for $21 million

In the 2000th Mint Capital was nearly the only foreign fund which ventured to enter the Russian market. The volume of the first Mint I fund was only 21 million dollars and the Boeing corporation and family of founders of Oriflame company acted as his investors. Founders of Ulf Persson fund (Ulf Persson) and Fredrik Ackman.
