2023: Transition under the management of Rostec

The Russian manufacturer of special-purpose radio communications NPO Angstrem came under the control of the United Instrument-Making Corporation (MIC; included in the state corporation "Rostec"). The corresponding entry in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL) appeared in May 2023.

RBC, citing a source, writes that the changes are related to the need to "build processes for the high-quality execution of the state defense order" and are temporary. Prior to that, the company was managed by Leonid Reiman. Rostec did not comment on the change of the executive body at the request of RBC.

According to the interlocutor of the publication (the article was released on May 12, 2023), several years ago the state set similar tasks for Rostec during anti-crisis measures at Uralvagonzavod and Kurganmashzavod.

Now these assets are successfully working, supplying equipment for a special military operation. In the case of NGO Angstrom, the task is more complicated, the situation and the severity of the issue is different, since there is no time, the effect is needed here and now, - said the informant.

Another publication clarified that extreme measures had to be taken due to the lack of components from the enterprise. The external control model should help in the competition, it is being introduced due to the fact that the current suppliers of the army were unable to fulfill the tasks of providing troops with communication systems, he added.
