EBS sold to VimpelCom partner

On December 14, 2015 Vedomosti , it was reported that MTS VimpelCom sold part of the system integrator business to a partner. NVision Group The sale cost turned out to be low.

In December 2015, MTS closed the acquisition of NVision Group for $15 billion, which did not include the subsidiary of the IT company - NVision Business Solutions (EBS; provides services for connecting clients to the VimpelCom fixed Internet access network).

MTS sold part of NVision to VimpelCom partner

The EBS was sold to the regional operator Zelenaya Tochka, which had previously bought some assets from VimpelCom. The sale of the EBS took place without a tender, and participation in the Green Point deal is not clear, the source said.

The choice of "Green Point," as explained by its general director and owner Sergei Kostelyanets, is due to the requirements of VimpelCom.

"The main ones are for EBS to be a specialized business for the buyer, so that the buyer has a large and positive experience in operating broadband networks, and it should have been a reliable partner who can close the deal in a short time," Kostelyanets said.

He did not disclose the purchase amount of the EBS. Vedomosti sources say the cost is "not very high." Earlier it was reported that MTS is going to sell this company for several million dollars. A person close to the former owners of the EBS said that the financial side of the transaction was completely arranged by AFK Sistema (the owner of MTS, which sold to the operator NVision Group).[1]

The media reported the sale of EBS

On November 9, 2015, the media reported on MTS plans to sell part of the NVision Group business, since the subsidiary of the system integrator has a contract with one of the operator's competitors, VimpelCom.

One of the operator's consultants told Vedomosti that MTS intends to sell its stake in the Envision Group company inherited from its parent AFK Sistema. According to him, MTS does not like that the integrator provides services to VimpelCom, which, in turn, is not satisfied with the relationship between NVision Group and the main competitor. While the integrator remained in Sistema, there was no problem in this, the source said.

The "daughter" of "NVision Group" has a contract with one of the competitors of MTS - "VimpelCom"

As a source close to VimpelCom clarified to the publication, we are talking about the company NVision Business Solutions (EBS; 100% subsidiary of NVision Group), which provides the operator with services for connecting clients to a fixed Internet. It is this part of the business that MTS is going to sell, but it is most likely that VimpelCom itself will buy it, but one of its partners.

According to SPARK-Interfax, EBS revenue in 2014 amounted to 2.91 billion rubles, which is more than twice the figure a year ago.

According to Otkritie FC analyst Alexander Vengranovich, the sale of a business working with a competitor is natural. At the same time, the expert doubts that MTS will be able to sell EBS at a high price.

Raiffeisen Bank analyst Sergei Libin estimates the value of the proposed deal at several billion rubles. Thus, MTS can return at least one of the money it spent on NVision Group, Libin said.[2]
