National association of industrialists — the large public organization integrating manufacturing companies of the USA.

But November, 2019 the headquarters of association is located in Washington. Governing bodies of association consist of Board of Directors and about 20 standing committees which are engaged as calculation of different economic indicators for needs of members of association, and lobbying of interests of association in the U. S. Congress. In each state of the USA there is regional department of association. In association several tens of thousands of the companies consist.

2019: Cyber attack by the Chinese criminals

In the summer of 2019 the network of National association of industrialists (National Association of Manufacturers, NAM) the USA underwent the cyber attack which is presumably performed by the cybercriminal grouping sponsored by the Chinese government. It became known on November 14, 2019.

As reported, after cyber attack NAM involved in investigation of the cybersecurity specialists who drew a conclusion on participation of the Chinese cybercriminals on the basis of use of the tools and methods which are earlier connected with the known Chinese cybergroupings.

According to sources, hackers doubled attempts of theft of information when there took place the meeting of the president Donald Trump and the head of NAM Jay Timmons. An incident occurred shortly before official negotiations between the USA and the Chinese authorities concerning conditions of the potential transaction. Trade negotiations included questions of protection of intellectual property and opening of the markets of China for bigger quantity of products of the USA (the problem which are directly affecting members of NAM).

For November, 2019 the reason of the attack to NAM is unknown, but, according to experts, the Chinese government repeatedly tried to steal confidential corporate information which could provide advantage in business negotiations.

Sources of the agency did not report what data were stolen during cyber attack[1].
