PET-Technologies was established in 2011 on a parity basis by OJSC, RUSNANO Industrial, Commercial and Consulting Limited Liability Company and Medilux CJSC to RosMedTechnologies implement a project to create modern diagnostic centers that allow diagnostics by the combined method of positron emission tomography computed tomography and (CT PET/centers) in the central federal district and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The federal network of Nuclear Medicine Centers will give the country's population access to advanced technologies for high-quality diagnosis and treatment of cancer. PET-Technologies produces radiopharmaceuticals (FPM) necessary for PET/CT diagnostics at its production facilities in Ufa and Yelets (Lipetsk region), which are equipped with a cyclotron complex, a laboratory for the synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals, equipment for dosing and packaging of FPM, as well as quality control devices.

The regional divisions of the PET-Technologies network provide PET/CT diagnostics services in the areas of specialist doctors free of charge for patients at the expense of compulsory health insurance (compulsory medical insurance), as well as on a paid basis.

In all cases, the reason is that the tariff established by the Territorial Compulsory Health Insurance Fund for PET/CT services in 2024 does not cover the costs of performing this study. It is noted that the resumption of the provision of services at the expense of the compulsory medical insurance program will be possible after the increase in tariffs. Patients are invited to undergo a PET/CT study on the compulsory medical insurance policy at the PET-Technologies centers in other cities, in particular, in Perm, Kirov, Izhevsk, Ufa, Obninsk and Ryazan (if they have the necessary package of documents).

2022

MedInvestGroup closes nuclear medicine center in Orel

On December 19, 2022, the governor of the Oryol region, Andrei Klychkov, announced the closure of the PET-Technology nuclear medicine center in Orel. The medical institution, opened by the MedInvestGroup Group at the Oryol Oncological Dispensary, has been operating since 2015

According to Klychkov, MedInvestGroup notified the regional authorities that it did not see the economic feasibility of continuing the work of the center. The governor promised that patients in need of PET/CT diagnostics will be delivered to Bryansk by the end of 2022, and then to Moscow.

In mid-December 2022, it also became known that MedInvestGroup would not build a nuclear medicine center in Skolkovo. Instead, a clinic with an operating unit will appear here, said Rafik Zagrutdinov, head of the Moscow Construction Department. The construction of the nuclear medicine center began in 2021, the commissioning of the facility was scheduled for the end of 2023, but in May 2022, MedInvestGroup froze the project due to possible problems with the supply of imported equipment.

On the basis of the center, the initiators planned to locate two cyclotron-radiochemical complexes, in which they intended to launch the production of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostics and drugs for radionuclide therapy. Also, the center was going to install two PET/CT scanners and two radiation therapy devices, open a research laboratory and install 22 "hot" beds for radionuclide therapy.

Opening of a nuclear medicine center in Bryansk for 250 million rubles

Opening of PET/CT center in Kazakhstan

At the end of December 2021, MedInvestGroup (MIG) opened its first PET/CT diagnostic center in Kazakhstan. This is also the first project of the company abroad, about 2 billion tenge ($4.6 million) was invested in it.

According to the press service of MIG, the Almaty Center for Nuclear Medicine "PET-Technology" will be able to conduct up to 7 thousand studies per year. It is noted that the project can become an educational center for Kazakhstani specialists and give impetus to the development of medical tourism.

According to Pavel Golovin, vice president of MedInvestGroup Group, the opening of a nuclear medicine center in Almaty is "not a one-time action." He announced the appearance of branches in other cities of the republic - Uralsk, Shymkent and Karaganda. Together with the Government of Kazakhstan, MIG intends to create an oncological cluster in the country. The corresponding agreement has already been concluded.

To work on a PET scanner, Kazakhstani specialists trained in Moscow and Balashikha, where the leading MIG cancer centers are located, and also underwent trainings on how to handle radiopharmaceuticals. In addition, the company's specialists who installed the device conducted an on-site internship.

MIG notes that for Kazakhstan and Russia the problems associated with cancer are very similar: the incidence rate in the republic and the Russian Federation is comparable in absolute numbers, and they are quite high. Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov stressed that life expectancy in the country depends on the number of cancer diagnostics procedures.^[5]

Opening of the PET/CT diagnostic center in Tula for 250 million rubles

In December 2021, MedInvestGroup opened the PET-Technologies Nuclear Medicine Center in Tula. More than 250 million rubles have been invested in this project.

The medical institution in Tula became the 28th center for PET/CT diagnostics of cancer "MedInvestGroup." The federal network operating under the PET-Technologies brand is now represented in 24 regions.

The Governor of the Tula Region, Alexei Dyumin, at an event dedicated to the official opening of the PET-Technologies nuclear center, noted that cancer in the region is one of the main causes of mortality. However, a lot has been done recently to solve this problem.

We are working in several directions. On the one hand, we are equipping the regional oncological dispensary with modern diagnostic and medical equipment. In particular, two linear accelerators for radiation therapy have been purchased and are already working. Opening of the Center for Nuclear Medicine in Vladimir

In early February 2021, MedInvestGroup opened a nuclear medicine center in Vladimir, in which more than 200 million rubles were invested. The new medical facility has started working on the basis of the Regional Clinical Hospital.

This is important both at the stage of clarifying cancer and at the stage of treating cancer - our specialists can very accurately determine how a selected treatment regimen works, how a tumor reacts to it, so that the attending physician can adjust prescriptions if necessary. Previously, this type of diagnosis was not presented in the Vladimir region, patients in need of such a study were sent to specialized federal centers. President of the MedInvestGroup Group Sergey Notov, commenting on the opening of the Vladimir Center for Nuclear Medicine, called this object difficult from the point of view of infrastructure. Opening of the Center for Nuclear Medicine in Ivanovo

At the end of January 2021, MedInvestGroup opened a new center for nuclear medicine, PET-Technologies, in Ivanovo. Investments in this project exceeded 200 million rubles.

This medical institution became the 24th in the federal network of centers for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer "PET-Technologies." The new center is designed to serve more than 5 thousand patients annually. There it will be possible to get a service for the diagnosis of cancer PET/CT, the direction to which the oncological dispensary issues.

As noted in the company, since the commissioning of the center, cancer patients in the Ivanovo region no longer need to travel outside the region to receive a PET/CT diagnostic service for oncological diseases. All patients of the center will be able to receive affordable and high-quality medical care within the framework of the territorial program of state guarantees.

PET/CT, which is used in PET-Technology nuclear medicine centers, allows you to assess the structure and functional features of the tumor at the molecular level. The image makes it possible to distinguish a benign formation from a malignant one with a high degree of reliability. First of all, PET/CT examination is prescribed to clarify the size of the tumor, as well as to determine the presence or absence of a metastatic process in the patient's body. The method makes it possible to detect small tumor foci in the early stages of the disease and obtain a three-dimensional image of the human body with accurate data on the location and boundaries of neoplasms.

In January 2021, it became known that MedInvestGroup will complete the construction of a positron emission tomography center in Novosibirsk. The company became an investor instead of the European Medical Center (EMS), which withdrew from the project in order to "focus on work in the central part of Russia (Moscow and the Moscow region)."^[8]

2020

Launch of two PET/CT centers in Moscow

At the end of 2020, PET-Technologies (part of the MedInvestGroup Group of Companies) opened two more nuclear medicine centers in Moscow. They are located on Orshanskaya and Profsoyuznaya streets. More than 450 million rubles were invested in these projects .

Thus, PET-Technology has three PET/CT centers in the Russian capital. The first such medical facility is located on Ivankovsky highway.

At the end of 2021, PET-Technologies is scheduled to launch a nuclear medicine center for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in the Sverdlovsk Region. The project is being implemented as part of a public-private partnership. The program provides for the creation of a nuclear medicine cluster, in which it is planned to introduce a laboratory and radiochemical complex, a radionuclide therapy building, a radiosurgery center, expand the use of positron emission tomography and open 20 outpatient oncological care centers in the region. It is assumed that the center of nuclear medicine in the Sverdlovsk region will serve up to 10-15 thousand people a year.^[9]

MedInvestGroup opened a nuclear medicine center in Kirov for 200 million rubles

On October 12, 2020, MedInvestGroup opened a nuclear medicine center in Kirov, investing about 200 million rubles in the project. The new institution has started working on the basis of the regional Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology.

The project was implemented within the framework of the federal program to provide the constituent entities of the Russian Federation with infrastructure related to diagnostics using radiopharmaceuticals. The Governor of the Kirov Region Igor Vasiliev, President of the MedInvestGroup Group Sergey Notov, First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government Dmitry Kurdyumov and Minister of Health Andrei Chernyaev took part in the grand opening of the center.

Igor Vasiliev noted that the opening of the center will solve one of the most important tasks facing healthcare in the Kirov region - improving the quality of medical care for cancer patients. The institution is equipped with PET/CT scanning equipment - this is one of the most accurate methods for determining neoplasms at an early stage.

The opening in a pandemic of such a modern center within the framework of private public partnership in one of the most difficult areas - oncology - is very important. Patients will receive assistance completely free of charge under the compulsory medical insurance policy, - the governor emphasized. - They will come here from all over the Kirov region, as well as from other regions of the country according to the testimony of doctors and receive high-quality assistance.

MedInvestGroup opened a nuclear medicine center in Vladikavkaz for 300 million rubles

On September 8, 2020, MedInvestGroup opened a nuclear medicine center in Vladikavkaz, in which over 300 million rubles were invested. The medical institution started working on the basis of the Republican Oncological Dispensary in North Ossetia.

This is the first PET Technology center in the North Caucasus and the 18th in Russia. It is designed to serve more than 6 thousand patients per year. Medical care will be provided under the compulsory medical insurance program. A Siemens Biograph Horizon-3R PET/CT scanner and a Siemens Symbia Intevo 6 SPECT/CT machine were purchased for the center.

Thanks to this investment project, we are solving one of the important tasks of health care - improving the quality of medical care. Patients no longer need to travel outside the region to undergo diagnosis. I hope we will build further work with this company in such a way as not only to diagnose oncology, but also to treat it. I believe that this will be more effective, - said the head of North Ossetia Vyacheslav Bitarov, who took part in the opening of the center for nuclear medicine along with the president of MedInvestGroup Sergei Notov, members of the government and doctors of the republic's oncological dispensary.

In the center of nuclear medicine, 18 health workers are employed, subsequently their number will increase to 25. During work, all results will be additionally rechecked by experts from Stavropol.

Opening of two PET-Technologies centers in Perm

In early September 2020, MedInvestGroup opened two PET-Technologies centers in Perm, investing more than 700 million rubles in them. The PET/CT diagnostic center, located on the territory of the Perm City Clinical Hospital named after M.A. Tverye, as well as the center of radiation therapy on the basis of the Perm Regional Oncological Dispensary, began work.

The first of these institutions is designed to serve more than 5 thousand patients per year. It will work under the compulsory medical insurance program. In early September 2020, an agreement was also concluded between the regional government and MedInvestGroup on the construction of a modern oncological dispensary, an infectious diseases hospital and a surgical building to provide medical services to residents of the Perm Territory and neighboring regions.

According to Sergei Notov, President of MedInvestGroup Group of Companies, the agreement with the Government of the Perm Territory is an important step in the implementation of the federal program for the development of the group, built on public-private interaction.^[12]

MedInvestGroup invests 37 billion rubles in a network of medical centers

In early July 2020, the MedInvestGroup (MIG) group of companies announced the investment of 37 billion rubles in its own federal project called "100 linear accelerators." It involves the launch of two radiation therapy centers in Yekaterinburg and Perm "PET-Technologies," the organization of a network of centers with linear accelerators in the regions and the creation of a clinical educational center.

MedInvestGroup, the company will rent specialized premises (canyons) for the installation of linear accelerators. At the same time, it is planned to provide services at the expense of compulsory medical insurance.

To train doctors in the fall of 2020, it is planned to open a clinical educational center, which will train specialists not only for PET-Technology centers. 15 training stations will be installed in the center. Work on them will allow colleagues in real time, based on real cases, to determine the treatment method, emphasized in the GC, adding that the tasks of the educational center will include not only the preparation of personnel for the existing PET-Technologies centers, but also training specialists for state medical institutions and improving their qualifications.

MedInvestGroup President Sergei Notov said that, according to calculations, the installation of one linear accelerator and associated costs amount to 350-400 million rubles. He believes that the authorities of the regions, for whose budgets these costs are significant, can transfer to the company the tasks of re-equipment of medical institutions.

According to the group, "regional governments can transfer to MedInvestGroup the tasks of re-equipping medical institutions that were planned within the framework of the national project, and spend the released funds, for example, on CT or solving other important socially significant tasks.^[13]

Nuclear Medicine Center opened in Yekaterinburg

In June 2016, the opening ceremony of the Center for Positron Emission Tomography of the portfolio company RUSNANO PET-Technologies took place in Yekaterinburg. The Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, together with the Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, will work out the issue of increasing the number of quotas for diagnostic measures based on the PET/CT center. Now, at the expense of the Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, up to 6 thousand patients can be examined annually. PET-Technologies will develop and from September 2016 will begin to introduce a Program for advanced training of doctors in the specialization "Radiology" with the possibility of an internship at the Center for Nuclear Medicine in Yekaterinburg.

Cancer is one of the two main causes of mortality in Russia. Currently, the most modern and accurate way to diagnose cancer is PET/CT scanning. Nuclear Medicine Center opened in Moscow

The Center for Nuclear Medicine was created in early 2016 on the basis of the Medical and Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (LRC) on Ivankovskoye Shosse. The center is equipped with a modern PET/CT scanner and is designed to conduct 5,000 studies per year. The reception of patients is organized in cooperation with specialists of the LRC in the field of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. The first 6 people have already been examined.

RUSNANO is implementing a project of a federal network of PET centers, which is designed to provide access to the best modern diagnostics of cancer for residents of several regions of Russia. Moscow is already the seventh city in the country where PET-Technologies has opened the Center for Nuclear Medicine.

The radiopharmaceuticals necessary for PET/CT scanning are delivered through network facilities, including Moscow, from Yelets, where their mass production was launched last year. Diagnostic centers "PET-Technologies" are located in the cities: Ufa, Lipetsk, Tambov, Kursk, Oryol, Yekaterinburg. The volumes of FPM production in Yelets (up to 500 doses per day) are synchronized with the schedule of patient admission in each of the PET centers of the Central Federal District and Moscow, which ensures uninterrupted delivery in the necessary time.
