The presence of a new base directly on the territory of the airport makes it possible to significantly optimize costs by centralizing the maintenance of equipment, reduce the cost of fuels and lubricants and increase the efficiency of operating activities. The commissioning of the new base completed the first stage of the project for the reconstruction and development of Pulkovo airport with a total cost of 1.2 billion euros. The implementation of the second phase of the project will begin when the airport reaches the passenger traffic threshold of 18 million people per year.
