JSC Moscow Sapphire Plant is a serial manufacturer of optoelectronic devices. It is part of Schwabe JSC (data for January 2022).

History

2021

As of 2021, the plant serially produces photodetectors and photodetectors based on silicon, indium antimonide, cadmium telluride and mercury. In the Central Design Bureau of the plant, a number of multispectral photodetectors and photodetector devices for homing heads are under development; R&D is underway to create cooled IR array photodetectors and 2 and 3 generation photodetectors.

Abrasive materials for precision processing of electronic materials have been developed and are being produced. On the basis of the laser thermal cleavage technology, sheet glass cutting plants have been developed and manufactured, and technologies for precision separation of sapphire, quartz, semiconductor materials and epitaxial structures have been developed.

2016

The infrastructure of the Russian research and production complex includes clean production facilities with an area of ​ ​ 7.5 thousand square meters, a deionized water factory, an autonomous center for energy and gas supply, a comprehensive system for recycling industrial waste, as well as a design center and research laboratories in key areas of nanotechnology. The implementation of the Angstrom-T project will allow replacing imported integrated circuits in key industries, and will also serve the development of Russian instrument making.

2010

The Moscow Sapphire Plant has been the leading serial manufacturer of optoelectronic devices in Russia for more than 70 years. The plant produces semiconductor IR photodetectors and photodetectors based on Si, Ge, InSb and CdHgTe, designed for thermal vision, thermal direction finding, automation systems for military and civilian applications. Under the conversion program, since 1985, the development and production of advanced medical equipment for clinical and outpatient research has begun.
