History

2009: Start of the edition

The Slon.ru portal was started in the spring of 2009. Initially the project was planned as the news website with a big share of materials opinions of journalists and the invited bloggers.

2010: Olga Romanova leaves Slon.ru

In the spring of 2010 Leonid Bershidsky (the first Chief Editor of the edition) decided that work with blogs is preferable. It caused split in a command, and a part of employees led by the senior editor of the portal Olga Romanova left the edition. Most of them found new work on the website Forbes.ru.

2011: Bershidsky leaves the edition. Kashulinsky is a CEO

On February 17, 2011 Bershidsky announced the withdrawal from the project. Duties of the Chief Editor of the portal were fulfilled by Anton Shirikov.

In March, 2011 the creator of Slon.ru Natalya Sindeeva announced a name of the new CEO of the portal. Kashulinsky Maxim Vladimirovich, before working as the Chief Editor of the Russian Forbes became him.

2014: Vinokurov becomes a CEO, Kashulinsky - the editor-in-chief

In December, 2014 the investor of Dozhd media holding Alexander Vinokurov became the CEO of Slon.ru. Maxim Kashulinsky who was earlier holding this position is appointed the Chief Editor of online edition. Staff movements are connected with crisis, Forbes reports.

"Decided to save not on journalists, and on the CEO" — Vinokurov told. Now the state of Slon.ru totals 42 employees.

Kashulinsky within two months headed edition Slon.ru before. Room was made after Andrey Goryanov's leaving.

2016: Irina Malkova is the Chief Editor

In August, 2016 it became known that Maxim Kashulinsky releases a chair of the Chief Editor of Slon.ru for Irina Malkova.

After dismissal of three editors-in-chief, a number of employees of RBC explained that too will leave Mikhail Prokhorov's media holding. Such declaration also the deputy Chief Editor of RBC Irina Malkova made.

Maxim Kashulinsky, the acting as the editor-in-chief of Slon.ru, becomes his publisher. Kashulinsky became a deputy in October, 2014 when the previous editor-in-chief Andrey Goryanov rather suddenly went to "The Russian service BBC".
