2012: IBM will absorb Tealeaf Technology

On May 3, 2012 IBM announced agreement signature according to which "the blue giant" will absorb Tealeaf Technology – software developer for the analysis of consumer preferences. It is designed to help the companies to see the hidden trends and to react quickly to moods of clients. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed, IBM expects to complete all necessary formalities during the second quarter.

Acquisition is aimed at expansion of initiatives of IBM Smarter Commerce. Marketing directors, specialists in the field of e-commerce, account managers will receive in the order the automated tools of assessment of consumer preferences in a web and on mobile devices in real time. The companies will obtain information which can serve as a starting point for improvement of quality of a customer support, increase in convenience of use of websites, the carrying out adapted for specific products and/or services of marketing campaigns increase in number of transitions (conversion).

By estimates of IBM, the volume of global market of e-commerce till 2014 will reach $1 trillion, on a mobile commerce till 2015 $200 billion is necessary. In this regard it is extremely important to marketing directors to represent accurately behavior model of a part of the audience preferring mobile devices for access to the network. "Marketing specialists should work constantly on improvement of the offered services offered in a web and on mobile gadgets", – Craig Hayman, the general manager of division of IBM Industry Solutions noted. – Tealeaf technologies will allow marketing specialists not only to do quantitative quality evaluations of perception of the promoted brands, but also right there to find optimal solutions for marketing departments, sales and service maintenance.

Tealeaf provides a full range of the software for management of consumer experience which analyzes interactions on websites and mobile devices.
