2018: Investments from IIDF
The IIDF invests 51.7 million rubles in Texel company which developed technology of creation of parametrical model of the person. The company will direct the involved investments to patenting and further improvement of technology and also expansion on the markets of the USA and the countries of Europe.
According to developers, the created Texel 3D - the scanner for people and large-size things is one of the fastest in the market — process of creation of model takes about 90 seconds. Scanners of the company work in 11 countries and, according to the statistics Texel, each 10 minutes of the device scan the new person.
According to data of the USRLE as a result of investments the IIDF received a 3.3% share in the company. The largest co-owner of Texel is Sergey Klimentyev (32.8%).
Now the Texel command works on artificial intelligence technology (AI) which will allow to create a 3D model of the person even without use of the scanner. AI studies at own and world's largest database - it is more than 60 thousand color 3D models of a human body collected by means of the Texel scanners in activation campaigns of the largest brands (Visa, MasterCard, HP, Cisco, 20 century FOX, etc.). Thanks to a unique data set of Texel it is invited in the closed international consortium (Intel, Target, Columbia, Lectra, etc. enter) on development of the standard of a 3D model of a body of the person of IEEE 3D Body Processing where supervises standardization of file formats.
Texel calculates what within a year of AI will allow to create parametrical models and to determine the exact sizes by a photo — by means of the smartphone or the camera mounted in retail store.
Texel technologies can be applied in many spheres, but at present the command decided to be focused on retail. In particular, use by buyers of own "virtual copies" will allow to select more effectively to itself models and clothing size at orders online and, as a result, to make repeated purchases more often.
Thus, use by buyers of the 3D models will allow online stores to reduce percent of return of goods (according to the statistics, in the USA this indicator reaches 40%, or nearly $260 billion a year) and to increase sales volume (as showed a research, 85% of buyers are ready to purchase in addition 1-2 things if are sure that the size will approach).
Besides, the 3D technology - scannings of the person can make shopping process more smart and personalized. The solutions Texel allow to recommend to buyers certain brands and collections of clothes and also the sizes and even style, proceeding from figure type.
Texel already carried out pilot programs, for example, in one of the largest shopping centers of Europe: from the scanned 20 thousand people of 90% visited shops which were advised by the Texel system, and 50% purchased clothes according to the recommendation. Additional benefit for retail — the buyer can save the measurements and use them for the subsequent orders online.
