Transaero company for 2010 was the second largest airline of the Russian Federation. Entered into number 10 of the safest airlines of the world and also into number of ten largest world carriers on routes of tourism and rest. The park of Transaero consisted of 59 airplanes. The route network of the company covers 130 directions across Russia and the countries of Europe, Asia, America and Africa.

2014

In November, 2014 Transaero announced sharp fall of profit: in 9 months it decreased by 5.6 times in comparison with the same period of last year. It was reported that financial performance of the company was affected by ruble depreciation. The total debt of airline for December 31, 2014 made 64.8 billion rubles.

At the end of 2014 Transaero received state guarantees for 9 billion rubles. In the first quarter 2015, it agrees the promulgated company of the reporting, Transaero was succeeded to increase profit and to reduce net loss. At the same time the debt of airline increased to 67.6 billion rubles. In July there were messages that Transaero asks new state guarantees for 9 billion rubles.

On October 14, 2010 the CEO of Transaero airline Olga Pleshakova estimated the cost of carrier at 1.2 billion dollars, having said that she considers it "fair"[1]. For comparison, capitalization of Aeroflot on RTS exceeded on October 13, 2010 2.55 billion dollars.

In June, 2010 Pleshakova said that Transaero is going to place 18% of shares for MICEX. Proceeding from the assessment of the company given by it now, the specified packet could cost 216 million dollars.

On October 14, 2010 the CEO of Transaero airline Olga Pleshakova said that so far the carrier does not lack borrowed funds that allows it not to hurry with initial public offering (IPO). The day before the Reuters agency with reference to own sources reported that the airline refused to carry out the IPO in 2010, but expects to carry out it in the 2011th.

"As soon as we need financing with which there are no problems now, then shareholders will make the decision on terms, IPO volume", - the head of Transaero explained. Share placing, according to Pleshakova, - "not end in itself, but a method of attraction of financial resources" along with the credits.

2015: Aeroflot officially refused purchase of Transaero

Aeroflot was going to purchase 75 percent plus one stock of Transaero airline. Vedomosti and Echo of Moscow with reference to the sources close to the government reported about it. Confirmed plans for purchase of Transaero to the Interfax agency and the representative of Aeroflot[2].

The decision on sale of Transaero of Aeroflot company, according to Vedomosti, was accepted on September 1, 2015 at a meeting with the first Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

Purchase of Transaero, reports the edition, will be discussed at the next meeting of the Board of Directors of Aeroflot. The government will give the directive to directors of Aeroflot to vote pro on this matter, interlocutors of the edition said.

Transfer of Transaero to Aeroflot, according to the newspaper, will gradually happen — within a year.

Echo of Moscow, in turn, specifies that all obligations of Transaero, including, before clients and also the staff of the company, certainly will be executed. This point will contain in the government directive.

According to RBC, the assessment of Transaero was not carried out yet. "Taking into account circumstances the transaction price will be very low" — the official of Ministry of Transport told. According to TASS, transaction amount will be one ruble.

In October Aeroflot officially refused purchase of the closest competitor — Transaero airline. As stated in the press release of the state carrier, shareholders of Transaero could not submit the offer on sale of 75 percent and one more action in time.

In spite of the fact that the transaction will not take place, Aeroflot promised to fulfill obligations to passengers of Transaero — them either will transport, or will return money for tickets. Earlier it was reported that money for support of passengers of Transaero will be selected by the state.
