Unitel was founded in 1996. The commercial activities of the company began on September 25, 1997. Since September 12, 2006, Unitel LLC has been providing services under the Beeline brand name. Beeline is the largest telecom operator in Uzbekistan. At the end of 2017, the company's subscriber base approached 10 million.


OOO Unitel and joint venture Buzton LLC (TM Beeline) are part of the VEON Ltd group of companies. VEON Ltd. (shares of VEON Ltd. are listed on the NASDAQ and Euronext Amsterdam exchanges).

History

2015: Uzbekistan sends "black tag" to "Bilain"

The authorities Uzbekistan are unhappy with the work of the mobile operator Unitel - the local "daughter" Vimpelcom. The company was accused of "systematic violation of the law" and "misleading regulators[1]

2008-2014

On December 2, 2008, Unitel was the first in Uzbekistan to announce the commercial launch of the 3G network. September 4, 2014 - the first in Uzbekistan to launch a 4G network using LTE technology. In three years, the company has expanded its 4G network in more than 20 cities in Uzbekistan.
