During Jim Heppelmann's performance on LiveWorx it was shown how by means of software of Waypoint a set of instructions for laboratory processing is created, using a set of gestures and voice commands together with the AR headset. The solution Waypoint transformed these gestures and commands in a row of interactive texts and images which were transferred to the headset.

According to the head of PTC, AR business brings the companies about $20 million revenue and grows for 100%. Earlier Reality Editor and Vuforia companies which also specialize in technologies of augmented reality were purchased. Developments of Vuforia formed afterwards the basis in AR functionality of the ThingWorx IoT platform, and all AR products PTC began to extend under the Vuforia brand.

According to the statement of PTC, developments of Waypoint can find application in different industrial projects. For example, producers can create and distribute the operation manual and other documentation to the released products.[1]
