Growth in sales of electronics for 458%

On February 27, 2019 Wildberries – the online retailer in Russia – announced growth in sales of electronics for 458% at the end of 2018. The greatest share in Wildberries turnover in a segment of electronics was occupied by smartphones.

Notebooks (+3692%), video game consoles (+1437%), portable columns (973%), smartphones (+718%), earphones (+696%), e-books (+583%), tablets (+560%), fitness bracelets (+454%) and smartwatch (+392%) became leaders of growth. Besides, interest in goods of category smart home grows.

Sales of books reached 1 billion rubles

Children's literature became the key driver of growth of a segment. In general for 2018 Wildberries turnover in a segment of book products made about 1 billion rubles, and number of the sold books exceeded 2.2 million pieces.

Children's literature became a main growth driver: 65% of sales are books for young readers. Wildberries offers buyers a large number of the developing and training benefits, works on children's psychology and education, pedagogics, creativity and leisure, books toys for kids, benefits for training in reading and the letter.

The number of the works of art, most popular with buyers, which they purchase includes "Fried green tomatoes into Polustanok cafe (Flegg Fannie), "And the echo flies on the mountains" (Hosseini H.), Servants (Stokett K.).

The most demanded inartistic editions are "Transformations. What usual things are made of?" (Slevin B.), "Magic cleaning. The Japanese art of establishing order of the house and in life" (Kondo M.), "Hyugge, or Cozy happiness in Danish" (Mari Turell Soderbergh).

Admirers of business works most actively buy up two editions of Transformer (Dmitry Portnyagin), "I will never give up" (Elon Musk), "Assessment of competences by an interview method: Universal management" (Ivanova S.).

To the least readers parents purchase on Wildberries "Stikhi-Boltushki Which Will Help the Kid to Start Talking" (Aseev I.), "the Abc-book. We learn to read from 2-3 years" (Uzorova O.), "Cheerful occupations for creative boys".

2017: 1.5 million goods, daily attendance of the website of 2 million people, 15 thousand employees
